Fiat Automòveis has won the
prestigious prize Os Eleitos (The Elected) from
leading Brazilian automotive magazine Quatro Rodas
magazine in no less than three important categories.
Fiat’s mass-selling production models: the Mille, Palio
Weekend and Strada had all been elected by their owners
as the cars on the Brazilian new car market that provide
the biggest level of satisfaction in their respective
segments. The exhaustive research was undertaken by
Quatro Rodas in association with the institute of
research Research International. The survey is
now in its sixth edition, and during the process of
valuating each car's meits and deciding the winners, no
less than 3,382 car owners' were interviewed.
The
Fiat Mille (which is closely based on
the Fiat Uno) was chosen by its owners as the best
compact car for sale on the Brazilian market. According
to the research, the owners consider that Mille offers
exactly what they are looking for. Among the B-segment
car's characteristics that were most praised by its
owners, were the generous internal dimensions offered,
good all-round visibility, an accessible retail price,
and the low cost for spare parts.
The Palio Weekend won for the fifth
time in the six years that this contest has been in
motion, the title it had already claimed in 2001, 2002,
2003 and 2005, that is for the best "Station Wagon" and
also the SUV award for the off-road styled "Adventure"
series version. This prize clearly demonstrates why
Palio Weekend is the leader in its market segment.

The customers declared as the strongest points of Palio
Weekend its ample interior space, both in the cabin and the
rear loading area, its design, the visibility afforded, and
the advantages of accessibility and convenience that Fiat’s
dealership network, which spread across Brazil, offers the
owner. This year, Fiat Automòveis has already commercialised
19,825 units of Palio model in its "Weekend" (estate)
format, including the rugged off-road "Adventure" series
version, between January and November, a total which is
comfortably ahead of its closest market rival, which sold
16,502 units during the same period.
In the "pick-up" vehicle category, the
Fiat Strada was recognised by its owners for its high
internal quality of materials, its consumption, design, and
the low price it affords for insurance. The Strada in fact
this year won this prize for the third time. The absolute
leader of sales in the pick-up segment for the last six
consecutive years, the Strada has already sold 38,122 units
between January and November 2006, a figure more than the
double that has been managed by its closest market rival.
