Lancia will be the main sponsor of the
second edition of the Biografilm Festival which is being
held in Bologna this year, and which will take place from 7th
until the 11th June at the “Manifattura delle Arti” ("Artfactory"). The
is the first event that will be dedicated to biographies and
stories about life, an idea directed by Andrea Romeo.
The Biografilm Festival seeks to explore
and deepen the theme of biographies and 'stories about
life'. This manifestation points at the biographical movie
and proposes five great names: Walt Disney, Enzo Ferrari,
Zheng He, Marc Bloch and Chet Baker. There will be some
excellent previews, an official selection, special events
and much more.
“The Lancia Aurelia B24 driven by
Vittorio Gassman in the movie directed by Dino Risi “Il
Sorpasso” (1962) is only one, although probably the most
important one, of the Lancia cars that contributed in in the
rise of success of Italian cinema all over the world,
creating a new definition of beauty, thoughtfulness, freedom
and poetry.”, said Olivier Francois, CEO of the Lancia
brand. “In one sentence, creating the real Italian
lifestyle, and getting the attention of paparazzi during the
unforgettable era of la DolceVita.”
It was in the Northern City of Turin
where the Italian Cinema was born: In fact in 1896 a first
projection room was opened, the true birth place of the
first Italian movies. Turin, the very same place where in
1906 Lancia started its long and exciting history.
