Atari have revealed two
magnificent new additions to
their on-line computer game
"Test Drive Unlimited", cars
that inspires awe and jealousy
among car owners today: the
Maserati 3500 GT and the MC12.
These new additions are the
latest Italian brands to join
the "massively open online
racing" game as last month saw
the Alfa Romeo GT Coupé and 8c
Competizione being added.
The name “Maserati” invokes
images of luxury, power and
prestige. It’s exactly the make
of car one would imagine seeing
cruising around the lush and
tropical island of Oahu.
Maserati’s grand history of
manufacturing dates back to
1914, but in the late 50’s they
decided that they’d take on the
Gran Turismo market and
introduced the 3500 GT line of
cars.
With the ability
for thousands of gamers to play simultaneously, Test Drive
Unlimited is M.O.O.R.: Massively Open Online Racing. This is
a truly unprecedented experience for racing gamers and is
the ultimate automotive experience for car enthusiasts. Once
in the game, players can visit the most sophisticated car
dealers to purchase new vehicles or simply take them for a
spin. Gamers can then participate in 16 player races or take
vehicles for a drive on over 1000 miles of diverse Hawaiian
roads and pass by thousands of other real players. Further,
players can collect and trade rare performance parts and
customize each vehicle to make it one-of-a-kind. Finally,
gamers win races, challenges, missions and tournaments to
earn credits and purchase new cars, rare performance parts,
clothes, apparel, homes and garages.
There are two types of Maserati
games will be able to choose
from when Test Drive Unlimited
launches the brand and both are
shining examples of grace and
power on the road.
In 1960, Maserati introduced
a version of the 3500 that had a
shorter chassis for greater
handling and direction. Often
compared to the Ferrari 250 and
Aston Martin DB4, this two-door
coupe convertible was one of the
most advanced cars of its day.
The 3500 GT is definitely one
for players to have in their
collection of cars from Test
Drive Unlimited. Meanwhile, the sleek design of the MC12
is just the start when
talking about this Maserati supercar.
