Autodelta are proud to announce the
'Autodelta European Tour 2006' which will take place from
15th -
21st
September, a journey through 7
European Countries that
will culminate in Monte Carlo and the launch of a very
special and exclusive new Autodelta model. This year in
fact marks the second running of this very special
event. Last year’s inaugural Tour saw three bespoke
Autodelta cars and an example of the then-new Maserati
GranSport travelling
on a route that took them from the firm’s London
headquarters to Rimini in Italy, where Autodelta’s GT Super
was presented at the ‘My Special Car Show’, Italy’s leading
custom and tuning show.
The route this year will take the Tour
participants from London to Holland for a weekend at 'Spettacolo
Sportivo' where the cars will be in action on the Zandvoort
race track, before heading southwards to Monaco via
overnight stops and events in Germany and Switzerland. The
Tour will culminate in Monte Carlo where the
participants will stay at the world-renowned Metropole Hotel
on Casino Square – a venue which is famous for its
association with the Monaco Grand Prix. This will be the
venue for the official launch to the media of the brand-new
bespoke Autodelta model on 20th September, in the presence
of the Tour participants.
“Last year’s first Tour went so well that the decision to
hold another one in 2006 was made long before we even got
back to London,” says Autodelta’s Jano Djelalian. “Also
this year, we will launch the most exciting new model to
date in our 20-year-history, a car that will demand respect
and a very prestigious launch. We therefore decided to
present it in the luxurious setting of Monte Carlo at Casino
Square, and tying this occasion in with the 2006 Tour seemed
completely logical.”
“This year’s event will be with a difference,
though, as Autodelta are inviting
20
additional cars to take
part. "After last year’s Tour, we had a number of enquiries
from customers who wanted to join the next one,” adds Jano. “We
thus decided to create 20
additional places for cars to join the official Autodelta
representation and we are pretty excited that Alfisti will
be taking part. We look forward to the participants joining
us in Monte Carlo and taking part in the launch of an
Autodelta model.”
ITINERARY

September, the Autodelta
European Tour 2006 will be a grand journey, taking in many

It was
in 1889 that the Hotel Metropole first opened its
doors, in the heart of Monte Carlo, Monaco’s most
fashionable neighbourhood. The hotel is situated in the Golden
Square, mere footsteps from the Casino de Paris,
Café de Paris, luxury boutiques, the superb
neighbouring gardens, and the Mediterranean Sea. |

At the event
participants will also get the chance to put
themselves and their cars to the test around the famous
Zandvoort race circuit, former home of the Dutch Grand Prix.
Located by the sea and surrounded by sand dunes, Zandvoort
is always a glorious location in the early autumn.
The Tour will leave Zandvoort
mid afternoon on Sunday (17th
September)
and head across Europe to Cologne where participants will
spend the night. The next day it will be on to Basel in
Switzerland for a reception at Alfa Romeo dealer and Swiss
Autodelta importer, B&K Automobile, followed by an overnight
stay in a luxurious hotel.
Next day (19th
September) will
be
the final leg of the run, a
spectacular drive
on
some of the finest driving roads in the world, from
Switzerland high
across the Alps,
through Italy, into France, and finally to Monaco, where
Tour participants will be pampered for the final two nights
at the Hotel Metropole. This will also be their opportunity
to experience first-hand the true reason for this tour –
Autodelta’s latest exclusive car unveiling, which will be
held in the world-famous Casino Square.
The Principality of Monaco has long been a
dominating place on the Côte d'Azur. Unique to the world,
this country is a crossroads, filled with history and
sociocultural traditions, as well as economic
activities. Monaco is undoubtedly an international centre of
attraction and has been since the 1860s, when it was under
the rule of Prince Charles III. It was in 1889 that the
Hotel Metropole first opened its doors, in the heart of
Monte Carlo, Monaco’s most fashionable
neighbourhood. The
hotel is situated in the Golden Square, mere footsteps from
the Casino de Paris, Café de Paris, luxury boutiques, the
superb neighbouring
gardens, and the Mediterranean Sea. Along with all of this,
it affords an excellent view of the Monaco Grand Prix
racetrack.
Whilst in Monaco an open bar at the hotel has
been arranged, along with a lavish dinner on the final night
to celebrate the conclusion of the 2006 Tour. Participants
will also get the opportunity to visit the principality’s
famous casinos, and see the sights. The Tour will also
attend the glamorous ‘International Yacht Week’ which is
taking place in the harbour and along the ocean front of
Monte Carlo at the same time. With 95 super and mega yachts,
530 exhibitors, 8000 square metres of stands and more than
22,000 visitors, the Monaco Yacht Show unites the most
prestigious companies from the yachting industry. Seduced by
the event’s success and prestige, big luxury names have also
joined in the past few years, such as Mercedes-Benz,
Baccarat and the watch making manufacture Blancpain, who for
the last seven years has designed a limited series Monaco
Y.S. watch for each event.
The Autodelta European Tour
2006 isn’t a race, it’s a relaxed tour for true enthusiasts
where you will drive exhilarating roads through spectacular
scenery in amazing company and with just 20 additional cars,
you can be sure that it will be truly exclusive. |
