At the 61st IAA
Commercial Vehicle in Hanover, Germany, next month (21-28
September 2006) Iveco will present its products, services
and technologies, all showcased on a 4,000 square metre
stand providing the backdrop to technologies of excellence
and a venue for dialogue with its customer base. Iveco will
exhibit 20 vehicles demonstrating how its extremely wide
product range fits customer needs: from the light commercial
vehicle Daily to the medium Eurocargo, the heavy Stralis and
Trakker, the special vehicles Iveco Magirus and Astra, and
the passenger transport range Irisbus Iveco.
Relying on its long-lasting tradition of success with the
Daily van range, Iveco will show in Hanover the new Daily
version fitted with an impressive load of novelties: Euro 4
engines with even higher hp and torque specifications,
innovative design features from Giugiaro, cab comfort and
driving quality enhanced to levels unachieved by rivals in
this class, an even broader range of chassis/engine/gearbox
combinations, the electrical system fully redesigned for
reliability and low running costs, the new braking system
and much, much more. Which provides evidence of the Iveco’s
leadership as a manufacturer of light vehicles for
professional transport.
Insofar the medium range, Eurocargo is undoubtedly a
landmark within the European market scenario, occupying a
leadership position within the 6-19 ton GVW segment. It is
flexible. It provides solutions for the most varied
configurations, and running costs are low. The Iveco
Eurocargo provides the solutions to customers engaged in
both medium-haul and urban transport. The range is as broad
as it is flexible. The engine solutions are of excellence.
Driving and working comfort is ensured. The running costs
are low. These are the strengths of the truck which has won
more awards than any other ― ever. Of course it will be a
prime exhibit at the show, now featuring the Euro 5
versions.
The Iveco heavy road and off-road range will be present at
the IAA with Euro 5 Stralis and Trakker models, in various
configurations. These are the latest of a successful range
of products with the features professional transport
operators are most interested in ― reliability, low running
costs, quality of life for drivers, the broad range of
versions available (more than 500), and thousands of
possible variants. The news for this range consists in: new
Cursor engines with enhanced power and torque available in a
wide rpm range; lower emissions and consumption levels;
broadened product offer; new steering wheel-mounted
gearshift; and much more.

Iveco is more than just trucks. Iveco products include the
amazing Astra ADT30c Dumper for extreme quarry-work site
mission conditions. The airport firefighting vehicle,
Superdragon x8, is the leader within its segment, and the
Iveco Magirus fire appliance ladder is a world leader both
in terms of the technology used and sales. These vehicles
represent Iveco’s range of more specialised industrial
vehicles.
Passenger transport vehicles come out of the know-how
acquired by Irisbus and the strengths of Iveco as a provider
of robust technologies. The Iveco stand will host three
vehicles: the New Domino tour bus, seating 55 with all the
refinement of its exterior design commissioned from
Pininfarina and the luxury interior produced by Irisbus
Orlandi; the Citelis Line city/town bus for 90 passengers
(seating 41); and the Daily Tourys, a 19-passenger minibus
inspired by the Daily model. The other three vehicles will
be on show outside the stand. These will be the Evadys tour
bus (seating 49), the Arway public transport/tour bus
vehicle (for 53 passengers) and Access’Bus GX 127, a midibus
for 63 passengers (seating 19).
Iveco's research will show in Hanover the results of two
important initiatives devoted respectively to efficiency of
road transport and urban transport: the “Transport Concept”
and the light commercial vehicle FIDEUS. The “Transport
Concept” is a prototype heavy duty vehicle, consisting of a
tractor unit and semi-trailer, based on the Stralis product,
which highlights a number of innovative vehicle solutions
for high transport efficiency. FIDEUS is developed from the
Daily CNG vehicle, as part of the European community project
“Freight Innovative Delivery of Goods in European Urban
Space”. The vehicle showcases innovative solutions for goods
distribution in urban environments with provisions for, over
the short- and mid-term, reducing environmental and traffic
impacts with no adverse effects on transport efficiency and
safety.
The Iveco stand will do more than just showcase vehicles. It
will provide opportunities for dialogue with the customer
base, also made possible by an overview of the many services
provided by Iveco. A corridor crosses the entire stand,
linking “islands” dedicated to various functions: reception,
infopoint, financial services, customer service and open
offices, where customers will receive all the attention they
deserve.
