The new Iveco Cursor
825, is a state-of-the-art engine – designed specifically to
meet the planning needs of high speed hulls. This new engine
will be premiered at the International Boat show in Genoa
2006.This is the latest innovation to be borne in the Marine
Sector of Iveco Motors, a brand of Fiat Powertrain
Technologies.
The Marine sector at Iveco Motors, a brand of Fiat
Powertrain Technologies (the Fiat Group division
specialising in research, development and production of
clean, innovative engines for automotive, industrial, marine
and power generation applications), will be present as usual
with a large stand at the 46th International Boat Show in
Genoa (7/15 October 2006).
More than
2300 boats will be
on display, with over 400
boats in the water; and more than
1650 exhibitors
for a unique, very wide ranging spread of products: boats,
accessories, marine equipment, technical clothing, tourism,
services, meeting and conventions, sport activities,
entertainment. This is the make up of
46th International Boat
Show, to be held
next 7 through 15 October at Fiera di Genova. The
International Boat Show is set to become even greater and more
impressive, thanks to the new basin, currently being
constructed, which will double the available expositive
areas in the water, and help the show become more defined,
with eclearer new product arrangement and subdivisions.

The 46th International Boat Show will also be enriched by
Tech Trade, considerably changed and renewed, thus becoming
a real "Show within the Show" entirely dedicated to marine
equipments and nautical accessories. Diving equipment
manufactures will make their debut in this area.
The long-awaited boat show is thus the ideal occasion for
presenting the new Cursor 825 engine which continues the
upgrading process implemented over the last five years
involving the entire “Industrial & Marine” range of Iveco
Motors.
Specifically, the range of marine engines comprises 5
families, grouped by outputs (from 20 to 2.400 HP) and
around thirty products representing the new generation of
engines for pleasure boating and professional applications.
All engines in the range are characterised by high-quality
marine components, multi-valve cylinder systems, advanced
mechanical and electronic systems (with injector – pump
system or Common Rail system) and integrated electronic
control. The
Cursor 825's main technical features: Power – 825 HP (607 kW) at 2400 rpm;
displacement – 12.9 l;
6 cylinders in line;
Injector – pump system; and electronic management.
The Genoa Show is the ideal occasion for the premiere of
expected development of a well established product the
Cursor 770, that until today was the largest and most
powerful engine in the Cursor range and the highest
expression of automotive experience and engineering at Iveco
Motors.
Ideal for mid-size flat yachts (14–17 metres), the Cursor
825 ensures – compared to its famous predecessor – power
upgraded by more than 7%. This performance is achieved
thanks to turbo MN07-06E 09.14.2006 optimisation, retaining
the dual parallel turbine set–up but with the addition of
Waste–Gate valves. All this brings about improvements in
torque, power and marine performances in general, for even
more impressive results for flat hulls and cruising speeds.
All this, naturally, at comparable overall dimensions and
weights, with special emphasis on the dynamic requirements
of pleasure craft.
Like all the other engines in the Cursor family, the 825
model also boasts excellent reliability, durability and
flexibility, together with high performance, low operating
costs and reduced gas and noise emissions.
By exploiting the potential of modern electronic control
technologies to the full, Cursor engines achieve new balance
between performance and efficiency, highlighted by the
availability of torque and power over a broad range of
engine speeds. The adoption of a new turbo system, combined
with Waste–Gate devices, optimises performances and reduces
operating costs.
The new product presented here come from the Industrial &
Marine division of Iveco Motors – FPT, that includes avant–garde
engines in terms of technological content and high
performance, achieved thanks to constant Research &
Development and engineering activities.
These activities take in the entire sector and are provided
by the Fiat Research Centre and Elasis.
