Iveco is
delivering a total of 50 Daily vans in the UK to Europcar,
the number one car rental company in Europe, each fitted
with a Luton body manufactured by Boalloy, as part of
Iveco's DriveAway Options programme. This popular scheme
allows customers to purchase bodied vehicles without having
to co-ordinate between two or more suppliers, whilst also
bringing further advantages in terms of shorter delivery
times and higher residual values. The Daily 35C12 Luton vans
feature a tail-lift and will be spread across the UK, from
Europcar's branches at Heathrow airport and Edgware in
London, to Aberdeen and Inverness airport in Scotland.
"The delivery of
Iveco Daily's follows our decision to re-enter the
commercial vehicle rental market, and sees the Luton vans
join a newly delivered fleet ranging from panel vans and
minibuses through to 7.5 tonne caged tippers," says Michael
McInerney, Fleet Director at Europcar UK. "Europcar has a
longstanding relationship with Iveco across Europe and the
delivery of Iveco's new flagship light commercial vehicle
will help to further develop and support our sales strategy
in this key area," he adds.
Like all new
models in the Iveco Daily range, the vehicles delivered to
Europcar benefit from a host of new features including a
restyled cab with a slick dash-mounted gearlever, together
with newly profiled more supportive seats, and additional
interior storage space. They also benefit from a restyled
front end and uprated braking systems, including larger
ventilated brake disks and both ABS and EBD (Electronic
Brake force Distribution) sensors. Each of the new vehicles
is powered by a revised 2.3 litre HPI engine delivering up
to 116 hp and built using Iveco's expertise as the world's
largest manufacturer of diesel engines over 70 hp. |
