In front of
almost 30.000 spectators in the completely packed Shell
Arena at the Bologna Motor Show Scuderia Ferrari turned in
its now traditional performance. This year's star was Marc
Gené who was making his debut with Ferrari at the Bologna
Motor Show.
The Spanish official Ferrari test driver completed ten laps
at the wheel of a 248 F1, four pit stops and numerous tricks
and spins, which made the spectators scream with enthusiasm.
A technical aspect that should be noted is that in the Arena
No 48 at the Bologna Motor Show the single-seater F1 car
carrying the Prancing Horse badge set a new record of 199,4
Km/h. Gené said he was amazed by this new experience made in
Bologna and underlined that this show "enables the
spectators to watch from close up what the Formula 1 single-seaters
are able to do". And so Ferrari once again was warmly
welcomed by its numerous fans at the events held during last
Saturday and Sunday at the Shell Arena, where the Ferrari
Challenge Trofeo Pirelli cars were once again raced this
year.

Meanwhile Scuderia Ferrari kicked off a three day test
session yesterday at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, in
southern Spain. The work programme for the week is scheduled
to reprise that of their previous two testing sessions,
carried out at the Barcelona track and also at this same
circuit: development of a new gearbox and mechanical
components for 2007, and adapting the car to the new
Bridgestone tyres and optimising engine reliability. Driving
the two 248 F1 chassis were Felipe Massa, who will race for
the team alongside Kimi Raikkonen next year and official
test driver Luca Badoer. The opening day in figures was as
follows: 75 laps for Felipe (best time 1.20.143) and 78 for
Luca (1.19.907.)
The second day
of testing in Spain kicked off this morning. Luca Badoer and
Felipe Massa continued with the programme begun yesterday
that included development of the new gearbox and mechanical
components, adapting the car to the new tyres and engine
reliability. Massa ran 81 laps (best time 1.19.732) while
Badoer turned in 77 laps (1.19.763.) Testing continues at
this circuit tomorrow, when Luca Badoer will be joined by
Marc Gené.
