Lamborghini are
crafting just 20 units of the ultra-exclusive Murciélago
LP640 Versace, a model which has been realised in
conjunction with the famous Italian fashion house; 10
examples will be finished in white while the other 10 are in
black; at the Paris Mondial de l'Automobile in September
they showed the white version on the occasion of the car's
world première, now at the Bologna Motor Show this week, and
on the Sant'Agata based sports car maker's home soil, it is
the turn of the shining black edition to make its full
public debut.
This new special
edition model, based on the recently launched Murciélago
LP640 Coupé, with its 640PS 6.5-litre V12 engine, has been created by the team responsible for
Lamborghini's in-house "ad personam" personalisation
programme, working in conjunction with designers from Gianni
Versace SpA. "The LP640 Versace, which we presented in
Paris, will only have 20 cars, they are all sold, ten black,
ten white," Elena De Silva from Lamborghini told
Italiaspeed in Bologna, "the price for this car is
340,000 euros," she added.
Versace's
designers have subtly re-worked the LP640's interior,
embedding their own distinctive pattern, the Greek fret
motif, which is an unmistakable symbol of "Maison Versace".
The new trim inserts extend to the seat inlays, including
the separate headrests which have also the Lamborghini badge
embossed into the new pattern; on lower sections of the
dashboard; the roof lining; on the engine firewall in the
recessed areas behind each seat; covering the top of the
centre console storage area access flap; and in the door
panel inlays.
