“Once again, the
Geneva Motor Show provides an excellent occasion to
highlight our role as leading player on the world automotive
market”, declared Life Senator Sergio Pininfarina, President
of Pininfarina S.p.A., at the 76th Geneva International
Show. On the Pininfarina stand, pride of place has been
reserved for the new Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, the Alfa Romeo
Spider and Mitsubishi Colt CZC all receiving their world première, and
the Volvo C70. All are epoch-making emblems of Pininfarina’s
expertise and styling, design and production know-how.
“These models are the best confirmation that the strategy
launched in 2000, intended to secure Pininfarina a place on
world markets as a Full Service Provider of the auto
industry, has now reached fulfillment” states CEO Andrea
Pininfarina.
“The vehicles showcased on our stand - continues Andrea
Pininfarina – represent a perfect synthesis of the three
main aspects of our activities: in addition to the new
Ferrari penned by Pininfarina, stressing the long-term
cooperation with the Maranello-based Brand, the debut of the
Alfa Romeo Spider and Mitsubishi Colt CZC – developed and
produced at our Italian facilities – confirm not only our
creative excellence but also our industrial expertise.
Furthermore, the Volvo C70, produced at the Uddevalla plant
in Sweden and previewed last year at the Frankfurt Show,
confirms the international growth of the company” declares
Andrea Pininfarina.
The most characteristic element of the Pininfarina stand is
the special trim of the Alfa Romeo Spider, Mitsubishi Colt
CZC and Volvo C70, produced in cooperation with the high
prestige Poltrona Frau firm. The main idea behind this
original project was to unite the three vehicles with a
unique language of colours and materials both as a mark of
distinction and to add further lustre to the interior and
exterior. “The special trim – concludes Andrea Pininfarina –
confirms the care and attention that the company reserves
for its customers’ products in a search for new, always
interesting distinctive features able to express its
creativity”.

Alfa Romeo Spider – world preview: developed and produced by
Pininfarina. Sportiness, Italian panache and quality, these
are the three characteristics that have inspired the project
since the outset, seeking to exalt the typical pedigree
personality of Alfa Romeo cars and continuing the long
traditions of roadsters designed and produced by the
legendary Italian auto-maker. The Alfa Romeo Spider will be
assembled at Pininfarina’s San Giorgio Canavese (Turin)
plant alongside the Alfa Romeo Brera which already rolls off
the same production lines.

Mitsubishi Colt CZC – world preview: at two years from

is the first model developed and produced by Pininfarina
Sverige AB, the joint-venture between Pininfarina (60%) and
