Pagani will unveil the new Roadster F supercar at the
Geneva International Motor Show later this month, a year
after the Zonda F coupé made its world debut. As with
the Zonda F coupé, the Zonda F Roadster is an
evolutionary design which has seen the specialist
Italian sportscar building firm making many improvements
throughout the car, although the basic visual shape
remains virtually unchanged at a first glance.
Pagani have not released any detailed information yet on
the Roadster F, the only clue to the new cars arrival is
from a semi-covered 'teaser' photo which is now
positioned on their official website. The same 7.3-litre
AMG-tuned Mercedes-Benz V12 engine from the Zonda F will
be incorporated, with power output likely to be the same
602bhp while torque will be around 760Nm.
Pagani has continued the theme of using the 'F'
designation for its Roadster evolution, a tribute to
Juan-Manuel Fagio who helped Horacio Pagani in his
mission to set up a sportscar company in Italy.
"Juan
Manuel Fangio was much more than a great champion. His
accuracy, his uprightness, and his human and technical
sensibility were among his qualities, typical
of the old-time men, they have been forme,
an example and an inspiration source," said Pagani on the
occasion of the announcement of the new Zonda F last
February.

"Very
often, I ask myself how something so material, like a
drawing or a technical choice, can express
and
convey the philosophy of such a men. The
name of “el coche”, the way he used to call the car,
should have been Fangio F1.
"He
followed the project with a strong enthusiasm, according
to his ideas the F1 had to be innovative, safe and
had to be powered by a Mercedes-Benz engine.
"He
then passed away and as a sign of respect I did not dare
to call the car Fangio F1 and I decided to name it Zonda,
'el viento de los Andes'.
"Today,
after years spent in a rigorous search for perfection, the
result is the Zonda F, a car that I wish to dedicate to
Juan Manuel Fangio, the man who has made everything
different," he added.
The Pagani Roadster F will be presented to the world's media
at 0900 on 28th February 2005, and to the public on 1st March, in
Geneva. Prior to these events taking place there will also
be a preview in Verona on 15th February.
