The global roll
out of the new Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano continues apace, and
over the course of the last week and a half, the
ground-breaking new 620 bhp V12 engine aluminium-bodied
sports car has been at the centre of attention at the
Istanbul Auto Show as it makes its Turkish debut. Ferrari
regards Turkey as an important new market for the Prancing
Horse marque and the new 599 GTB Fiorano headlines a line-up
that includes the F430 (in coupe format) and the 612
Scaglietti. It is positioned on its own platform under a
large archway at the show in the CNR Expo Centre that runs
until 12th November.
The arrival of the new 599 GTB Fiorano in Turkey follows a
recent rash of national debuts: in September it made its
French debut at the prestigious Paris Mondial de
l'Automobile, while last month it arrived in style in
countries as far flung as Brazil, South Africa and
Australia, in all three it made starring motor show
appearances where it was the centre of attention.
The 599 GTB Fiorano has also be making its US debut as the
Ferrari Panamerican 20,000 as it finally homes in on
its New York City finish line. On Wednesday the team of cars
arrived in Washington. "A worldly day for the team of the
Ferrari Panamerican 20,000 in Washington with a morning
press conference at the local Ferrari dealer and the
presentation of the new 599 GTB Fiorano: this model is being
presented and launched on the US-American market during the
Panamerican 20,000 Tour," reported the Panamerican
team.
"Many journalists from international and local news outlets
gather at the conference. Later, the team goes for a ride
around the city and stops the cars in front of the most
important monuments of the US-American capital. In the
evening the team members are welcomed in the new Italian
embassy, designed by the architect Piero Sartogo - a genuine
expression of Italian taste and style. And as usual the
guests admire the two Berlinettes - standing next to a 212
from 1953 in perfect conditions.

"Ambassador Giovanni Castellaneta and the president of
Ferrari North America Maurizio Parlato underlined how the
product Ferrari, admired all over the world, represents the
high standard of Italian manufacturing and Italian taste,"
the report concluded. Next and final stop is New York.
With the release of the 599 GTB Fiorano Ferrari has
introduced its most powerful V12-engined production car of
all time. The car is a concentration of Ferrari's most
innovative and technologically advanced engineering
solutions applied to a mid-front engined two-seater coupé.
The result is a new benchmark for performance, driver
involvement and design. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano boasts
class-leading power thanks to its 5,999cc V12 - derived
directly from the Enzo Ferrari supercar - which produces no
less than 620hp at 7,600 rpm for a weight/power ratio of
just 2.6 kg per horsepower.
Ferrari has adopted the latest evolution in its tried and
tested all-aluminium construction technology for the body
and chassis. The unmistakable Pininfarina design gives the
Ferrari 559 GTB Fiorano aggressive yet elegant lines which
are perfectly integrated with the advanced aerodynamic
solutions adopted to reach the performance figures
attainable. This new model is the symbol of Ferrari's
production - the V12 berlinetta - and represents the latest
interpretation of a theme that has seen such classics as the
250 GT, the 275 GTB, and the 365 GTB4. The Ferrari 599 GTB
Fiorano replaces the last in that great line of berlinettas,
the 575M Maranello, of which - together with the 550
Maranello introduced in 1996 - no fewer than 5,700 have been
produced, a record for this type of model for the Prancing
Horse.
