Visitors to the
Melbourne International Motor Show over the next week can
take the new Fiat Grande Punto home with them - five months
before it goes on sale - thanks to a unique Bluetooth
interactive download centre on the Fiat stand.
The back wall of the Fiat stand has been transformed into
download centre, allowing visitors to download various types
of content to their Bluetooth enabled mobile phones or PDAs.
By placing their handsets on different 'hotspots' on the
wall, visitors can download images and a video clip of the
Grande Punto as well as the Fiat logo and a calendar
reminder of the Grande Punto launch date.
The product is the brainchild of Breeze Tech - a
Scottish-based company which has recently expanded to
Australia. "This technology is a great way of enhancing the
customer experience for visitors at the stand and enabling
exhibitors to interact with attendees in an engaging and
innovative way," says Claire Gunn, Breeze Tech Pty Ltd
Australian Director.

To download the content, attendees simply place their
Bluetooth enabled device against the hotspot and the data is
transferred to their phone. No personal information is taken
during this process and it doesn't cost the customer
anything - the content is free to download. Importantly for
Fiat, the software reports back at the end of the event on
the number of different files downloaded.
David Stone, General Manager for Alfa Romeo and Fiat cars in
Australia says the Breeze Tech system enables customers to
easily experience what Fiat has to offer. "This technology
adds a new experience to visiting the Fiat stand at the show
and it boosts awareness of the launch of the new Fiat Grande
Punto in Australia later this year," says Mr Stone. "The
next step is deploying the technology at car dealership
networks to enable customers to download information on new
models as well as video clips and images of the cars."
The technology can be used in a variety of different
environments and can send multiple types of content such as
images, video clips, MP3 files, e-business cards,
e-vouchers, calendar reminders and games. "We are now
working closely with design and advertising agencies as well
as media groups who can offer this technology to clients,
enabling them to interact with their target audience in any
given environment." Claire Gunn added.
