Fiat has claimed its second Brazilian Rally Championship title in less than a month, this time Reinaldo Varela and Kz Morales in the Tedracing Fiat Palio Abarth have wrapped up the national N2 category on last weekend's Rally de Velocidade. This latest title follows on from the success scored by Luís Tedesco and Bruno Mega in the A6 class which they sealed on the last round of the national series, the 26th Rally da Graciosa. It was also Tedesco's tenth consecutive rally championship victory.

Last weekend though it was the turn of Reinaldo Varela and Kz Morales, driving a Tedracing entered Palio 1.6 in the more basic rally specification N2 category, as they claimed Fiat's second title of the 2006 Brazilian Rally Championship, on the

, the seventh round of the series which was based in the city of Erechim/Rio Grande do Sul-RS. With one just round remaining of the 2006 series Varela and Morales (60 points) now have an uncatchable 26-point advantage over their closest rivals, the Peugeot crew, Rafael Koller and Marcio Schaefer. Third place is held by Mirtilo Trombini and Rafael Maluceli, also in a Peugeot, who have 27 points.

This was also the second consecutive national title for the Tedracing team in the N2 category with Reinaldo Varela driving. "This is a title won after much competition during all the championship," said Varela. "Our rivals had shown that any mistake could be fatal and as much as we fight to win the championship the more excitement we bring to it. I am very happy," he added. For the co-pilot Kz Morales this was also his second consecutive national title as in 2005 he won the championship in the A6 category as the co-pilot of Luis Tedesco.

Fiat has claimed its second Brazilian Rally Championship title in less than a month, this time Reinaldo Varela and Kz Morales in the Tedracing Fiat Palio Abarth wrapped up the N2 category on last weekend's Rally de Velocidade.

“It was a great surprise. I didn’t expect it to have happened like this” he said. "I don’t want to get accustomed to be always champion though because I think that we could get bored with the same results, and this is not good for me. I always want to overcome my limits and arrive at the end of each race with a deserved victory," added Morales.

Luis Tedesco and Bruno Mega were driving as usual for the Fiat Rally team in the A6 category on the Rally de Velocidade. As they had sewn up the title in their class during the previous Araucária/Paraná-round, the used that advantage in last weekend's Erechim/Rio Grande do Sul-RS based rally to test in action the car the will be using to aim at the  2007 Brazilian Rally Championship, and to give a good show for the large number of spectators present along the event. "The track was excellent and the public support was still even more exciting for us," said Tedesco, who has now been Brazilian Rally Champion no less than fourteen times. Victory in A6 increases the advantage of Tedesco and Mega to 68 points, putting them 30 points ahead of Rafael Tulio and Gilvan Jablonsk (Peugeot) and Jayme Rosler and Aury Klein (Peugeot) who are on 27 points.
