26.10.2006 FERRARI CHALLENGE DEALER TEAM GB IN ACTION THIS WEEKEND AT MONZA

In only its first year in the exclusive but ultra-competitive Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, the Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB has achieved a remarkable result, with two race wins and several podium finishes which clearly demonstrate that the team has the desire and the ability to succeed. With the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli visiting the “Temple of Speed” at Monza, Italy, for the second time this year, the team has the momentum and motivation to finish the season with another win at one of the fastest circuits on the calendar.

“The Finali Mondiali – or World Finals – is the highlight of an exciting year of motor racing for Ferrari clients,” said Massimo Fedeli, Managing Director for Ferrari GB. “This season has been a fantastic one for the team, with several wins and podiums from the newest team in the pit lane. We can be very proud of what we have achieved this year and we look forward to celebrating our success with our VIP clients from the UK who will be cheering on the team and the drivers at Monza.” The Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB will be represented at Monza by three cars in the Trofeo Pirelli and three cars in the Coppa Shell. With his first race win at Paul Ricard in July, and several podium finishes throughout the season, Ross Kaiser will be driving Car 27 at the sharp end of the grid and is expected to push hard for another win at a circuit he knows well and which suits his fast, smooth driving style. Also joining the team for the last race of the year, ahead of a full season of racing in 2007, is Gilles Vannelet in Car 21. Gilles has several years experience as a racing driver and has successfully campaigned a Group N rally car, various GT cars and also the Ferrari Challenge.

Also competing in Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB colours in the Ferrari Challenge Italian series is Car 29, driven by the dynamic combination of Christian Passuti and Lorenzo Casé who drove for the team at Valencia and finished on top of the podium, narrowly beating Ross Kasier to his first victory. In the Coppa Shell category, Croatian Borislav Maletić in Car 89 will be hoping for another excellent result as he was very competitive at Monza earlier in the year and is looking forward to driving on the historic Italian circuit which has some of the fastest corners and hardest braking zones of any circuit on the calendar.

FERRARI F430 CHALLENGE

In only its first year in the exclusive but ultra-competitive Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, the Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB has achieved a remarkable result, with two race wins and several podium finishes which clearly demonstrate that the team has the desire and the ability to succeed.

Also driving in the Coppa Shell in Car 108 is Peter Bamford who has made an excellent start to his racing career with consistent finishes at Paul Ricard and Nürburgring which provide him with valuable experience ahead of a full season of racing in 2007.

For the Ferrari World Finals, Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB has also entered a Ferrari 360 Challenge racer into the Trofeo Pirelli category which includes the F430 Challenge and 360 Challenge competing at the same time. The 360 Challenge has been the mainstay of the Ferrari Challenge since 2001 and has a 3.6 litre 400 hp engine which ensures that all competitors are equally matched and the deciding factor is the driver’s skill. This particular car will be driven by motoring journalists who have a broad range of racing experience, but will be racing for the first time in a Ferrari at Monza.

The Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB is a collaboration of three of the UK’s official Ferrari dealers who along with Ferrari GB have created a championship winning race team ready to offer Ferrari clients the opportunity to take the chequered flag in this year’s European Championship. The dealers who provide technical support for the team are Graypaul Nottingham, HR Owen Kensington and Maranello Sales Egham. But it’s not only Ferrari technicians who support the F430 Challenge drivers each weekend, it’s also VIP guests who are invited by each dealer to spend the weekend enjoying the atmosphere of the pit lane and the Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB’s hospitality, in a dedicated purpose-built hospitality facility which provides guests with the opportunity to meet the drivers and sample the life of a Ferrari racing driver.
