Ferrari is
displaying both sides of its character to harmonious and
complementary effect at this year's New York Auto Show. Its
thoroughbred sporty side is represented by the F430 Spider,
developed using F1 technology while the 612 Scaglietti
represents its technologically advanced GT side. Also on
display is the 599 GTB Fiorano, the latest arrival from the
Prancing Horse and a stunning link between its Sport and GT
sides. All of the models showing on the Ferrari stand
include personalisation features that have become a Prancing
Horse trademark integrated with new content designed to
enhance both their natural elegance and driving-pleasure.
The Grand Tourer
The cabin of the 612 Scaglietti is even more sumptuous and
elegant than ever with meticulous detailing combined with
significantly enhanced GT content. A new natural leather by
Poltrona Frau available in the 12 colours in the current
range has been used to trim the interiors. The process used
to produce this particular leather makes it buttery soft and
wonderfully elastic - as seductive to the touch as it is to
the eye. The handcrafted leather interiors also feature new
stitching and a new way of finishing the four seats and door
panels. The range of cabin personalisation options has also
been further extended. Clients can enhance the atmosphere of
luxury and exclusivity in their cars further by selecting
from a choice of two different interior configurations, each
one can be combined with light aluminium, burnished
aluminium and leather inserts as well as carbon-fibre trim.
Also making its North American debut on the 612 Scaglietti
is the Bose® media center: an innovative system combining
radio, audio and video DVD, navigation, Bluetooth® and
satellite radio. A TV tuner and rear parking camera complete
the picture. The system also includes a digital 5.1 surround
sound system and was developed specifically for the 612
Scaglietti cabin to ensure Bose quality sound at all times
and under all conditions. In fact, the in-car audio quality
is on the same level as the best home theatre units. The
system also boasts other innovative features including
U-Music® which organises and stores hours of music according
to the user's specific tastes.
Visitors can test out the Bose® media center for themselves
at the listening stations created especially by Poltrona
Frau in the lounge at the Ferrari stand.
2006 - An excellent year
2006 was an exceptionally successful year for Ferrari. With
Luca di Montezemolo as its President, Jean Todt as CEO and
Amedeo Felisa as General Manager, the new Prancing Horse
facility delivered a total of 5,671 cars, an increase of
4.8% on 2005. Revenues for the 2006 financial year equalled
1,447 million euro while Ferrari's trading profit of ¿183
million showed a significant leap of 16.4% over the previous
financial year. These results underscore the importance of
the Ferrari brand to the Fiat Group which, in the course of
the year, also bought back the Prancing Horse shares sold to
banks, thereby increasing its stake in the company to 85%
(the remaining 15% is divided up as follows: 10% the Ferrari
family, 5% Mubadala).
The 12.2% increase in Ferrari's revenues was due in great
part to excellent performance in North America (with
deliveries up 6%) and new and developing markets (the Middle
East, Eastern Europe and South America) which generated a
significant increase in sales volumes. The Chinese market
also performed exceptionally well indeed with the number of
cars delivered there doubling in just 12 months. Ferrari
continued to expand its brand development activities too,
resulting in an increase of 23% in revenues in 2006, thanks
both to new licensing contracts and the extension of our
retail plan. With the opening of the new Ferrari Store in
Los Angeles last month, there are now 14 Ferrari Stores and
Shops worldwide.
1947-2007 - Worldwide 60th Anniversary celebrations
underway
On May 25th 1947, the very first Ferrari, the 125 S, won the
Rome Grand Prix, an amazing feat given that this was only
the car's second foray into competition. Today, with 14
World Drivers' titles, 14 World Manufacturers' titles, eight
F1 Constructors' World Championships, six International F1
Constructors' Cups, nine Le Mans 24 Hour Race wins, eight
Mille Miglia victories, seven Targa Florio triumphs, and
clients across over 50 markets worldwide to its credit,
Ferrari is celebrating its 60th birthday. To mark this major
milestone in our history, we have embarked upon the Ferrari
60 Relay which started on January 29th last from Abu Dhabi,
the home of the soon-to-open Ferrari theme park.
This tour will take a specially designed relay baton
depicting 60 of the most significant events in the Prancing
Horse's extraordinary history, on a massive journey across
five continents. The baton will be borne from destination to
destination by over 10,000 clients at the wheel of cars of
every model and era before the Ferrari 60 Relay draws to a
fitting close in Maranello on June 23rd. The relay baton
will soon arrive in Europe, having already made its way
across the Middle and Far East, Australia, New Zealand,
South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Canada and the United States.
Needless to say, it received a spectacularly warm welcome in
all of the above countries. Relay events in the United
States and Canada included Miami, San Francisco, Los
Angeles, Toronto, Montreal and the finale last weekend from
New York's Central Park to Washington DC where almost 100
Ferraris and their owners celebrated the 60th anniversary at
the Italian Embassy in Washington.
Ferrari in North America
2006 was the 14th consecutive year of increasing sales for
Ferrari North America ending with 1,635 units retailed. This
represents a 6% increase versus 2005. North America is the
most important market for Ferrari, representing
approximately 30% of the marque's worldwide sales.
The Ferrari North America dealer network is comprised of 36
dealers (32 in the United States, four in Canada). Ferrari
is represented by four authorized dealers in the New York
area: Ferrari of Central New Jersey in Edison, Ferrari of
Long Island in Glen Gove, Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, CT
and Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley, NY.

Jersey, is headed by Maurizio Parlato, President and CEO,
now in his fifth year at the helm of Ferrari's largest
market worldwide. Ferrari North America is the sole importer
and distributor of Ferrari sports cars in North America and
is responsible for all organization and operating
requirements for the marque in the United States, Canada,
Mexico and Central and South America, including the
technical training and spare parts service. Ferrari North
America has a retail facility on the West Coast of the
United States; Ferrari of San Francisco, and a corporate
showroom located at 410 Park Avenue in New York City. "It is
not only great products which have made North America
Ferrari's most successful market. It is also the passion of
our clients, the innovation in our marketing platform that
we have implemented as an organization and the
professionalism of our North American dealer network which
has invested more than $80 million in facilities over the
last five years" said Maurizio Parlato commenting on Ferrari
North America's performance.
The Ferrari Challenge
Ferrari wishes to congratulate 2006 champion Emmanuel
Anassis for his third consecutive championship in the North
American Ferrari Challenge Series. 2006 was one of the most
successful years yet for the Ferrari Challenge with an
average of 28 competitors filling the grid for each race.
2007 marks the 14th consecutive year of the Ferrari
Challenge in North America. This series has established
itself as one of the most respected and professional
Gentleman's Racing Series in the world of automobile
competition.
In 2007, the F430 Challenge replaces the 360 Challenge with
which it ran concurrently in 2006. The 8-cylinder
berlinetta-derived F430 Challenge competition car retains
the same general look and 479 hp engine as the road going
version while incorporating a large number of significant
track-oriented modifications and a host of new features not
seen in the 360 Challenge car. In 2007 the Ferrari Challenge
racing series in North America will see six events scheduled
throughout the year and a final event hosted in Italy in
October to wrap up the season with two days of racing with
participants from all over the world.
The North American calendar kicked-off with the first race
at the Homestead Miami Speedway on March 9-11. Races will
follow at Infineon Raceway in Northern California on April
13-15, at VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia
on May 18-20, in Montreal in support of the Formula One race
on June 8-10, at Mt. Tremblant, Canada on June15-17 and at
California Speedway in Fontana, California on August 10-12.
For the eleventh consecutive season, in 2007 the Shell
Historic Challenge will see historic Ferrari and Maserati
racing cars at some of the most prestigious American and
Canadian racetracks. There are five events scheduled for
2007, four of them concurrent with Challenge races
(Infineon, VIR, Mt. Tremblant and California Speedway).
Additionally the Historic Challenge will run at Laguna Seca
on August 16-17.
The Ferrari Driving Experience
For the first time ever, the Ferrari factory has authorized
a driving school outside of Italy. Located at the scenic Mt.
Tremblant race track in Quebec, students learn techniques to
help control and enjoy their cars at the limit of their
ability in an environment where safety is always the top
priority. This course is modelled on the Ferrari S.p.A.
driving course which focuses on proper driving skills and
gives owners the opportunity to experience the full
capability of their cars on a closed circuit. The school
runs from May until September and is limited to owners of
Ferrari cars. Reservations can be made through Ferrari North
America or through an authorized Ferrari dealer. The dates
and costs of the school can be found at
www.experienceferrari.com.
The North America Driving School offers instruction
corresponding to "Pilota Ferrari" courses which take place
at the Fiorano track in Maranello, Italy. For over ten years
Ferrari S.p.A. has organized a series of different driving
courses offering a progressive series of steps leading up to
a true racing course, which is only offered in Italy.
Certified Pre-Owned Program
To provide peace of mind and reassurance to owners of both
new and pre-owned Ferrari sports cars, Power Service
Contracts are exclusively available from authorized Ferrari
dealers. Available in three different packages, the Power
Service Contracts will cover selected components on vehicles
up to ten years old. More information is available at
www.ferraripower.com.
Ferrari North America Marketing Initiatives
Ferrari North America organizes a number of special events
and rallies each year to give Ferrari owners the opportunity
to share the passion of driving their special automobiles.
This year, the Ferrari Rally of Virginia will visit four
states before the grand finale in Washington D.C. More
information on the Challenge Rallies including plans for
next year can be found at www.ferrarirally.com.
Ferrari North America takes special efforts to maintain
close contact with its clients. Rosso Magazine and Rosso
Online are complimentary publications reaching out to the
extended Ferrari family with the latest information on new
products, racing activities, customer profiles and partner
activities. Additionally, Ferrari clients can avail
