Until 16th
September the Galleria Ferrari is enriching its expositions
dedicated to the 60 years of Ferrari with an original
exhibition of posters of the competitions.
60 years of motor racing, narrated in an inventive way
through automobile posters and manifestos from races in
Italy and around the world from the year 1947 until today. A
unique collection of 200 posters illustrates the history of
the Scuderia Ferrari on the race tracks all over the world
through the works of artists such as Fortunato Depero, Gino
Boccasile, Marcello Dudovich and Plinio Codognato, who,
everyone with his own style, are great representatives of
Art Nouveau, Futurism and abstract art.
Represented on the posters exposed are the most important
races for Ferrari, such as the Mille Miglia, the Targa
Florio, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Nürburgring, races,
which over many years have been marketed with Ferraristi
drawings by Colonia, Van Husen or the unpredictable American
Michael Turner.
This original and unique collection, owned by Sergio Cassano,
enables the visitors to take a look at the history of the
Scuderia Ferrari and the way Ferrari has been represented
over the last 60 years by famous artists, who were
fascinated by the legend of the Prancing Horse.

Together with the exhibition of the manifestos some of the
most significant trophies, won by Ferrari since its
foundation, and two prestigious historic cars, the 500 F2
and the 750 Monza, can be seen.
The 500 F2, the first car from Maranello with a 4-cylinder
straight engine, became a real legend: it started in 15
races of the World Championship, winning 14, 11 of them with
Alberto Ascari, gaining the world Championship title in 1952
and 1953.
The 750 Monza was raced for the first time on a track on the
occasion of the 1,000 kilometres of Monza in the year 1954,
immediately gaining a double win. Although the most exciting
race was the Tourist Trophy, with an exceptional performance
by Hawthorn and Trintignant, who presented Ferrari with the
victory in the World Championship.
Entry to the exhibition is included in the entrance ticket
of the Galleria Ferrari, which is open from Monday to Sunday
from 9:30 to 19:00h all through the summer.
