60 Years of Ferrari:
Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen triumphantly ended
the Ferrari 60 Relay celebrations, together with
1,000 cars of the Prancing Horse in Maranello. A worldwide
unique relay, with 103 stages through 42 countries on five
continents: after 145 days of travelling the baton with the
60 symbols, representing the 60 most important events in the
history of the brand, finally came back home to its
birthplace, to Maranello.
The Ferrari
60 Relay kicked off on January 28th in Abu Dhabi, the site
of the future Ferrari theme park. The central theme of the final event
in Maranello over this weekend is technological innovation
pioneered by Ferrari in the 60 years of its existence. For
the occasion, Ferrari has assembled its 60 most important
innovations, ranging from aluminium pliers for disc brakes
to the electric differential and the F1 gearbox. Against
this backdrop Ferrari has also organised its first concours
d'élégance: a series of events on the track, at the factory
and at the Galleria Ferrari in Maranello celebrating the
elegance of the Ferrari.
Today, accompanied by more than 1,000 cars from Ferrari -
certainly a record - the baton officially arrived at 12
o'clock on the Fiorano race track on board of a 125S, the
first Ferrari ever built, with the two Scuderia drivers,
Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, behind the wheel, followed
by 52 Spiders - representing each market where the Prancing
Horse is present these days.
