The seventh edition of Podio
Ferrari, the annual awards event for Ferrari suppliers and partners that have
demonstrated particularly high standards of excellence, technology, innovation
and product development in partnership with the Prancing Horse, took place this
week. The event was attended by Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo,
Vice-President Piero Ferrari, CEO Jean Todt and General Manager Amedeo Felisa.
The "Italian Excellence" Award was won by Re Fraschini for "the consistent
excellence of the products supplied to Ferrari's GES Racing Division despite the
exceptionally tight deadlines involved in the building and development of our F1
cars." The Award was presented by Vice-President Piero Ferrari to Massimo and
Piero Re Fraschini, co-owners of Eligio Re Fraschini.
Eldor - The "Ferrari Technology Award" was presented by Ferrari General Manager
Amedeo Felisa to Pasquale Forte, President of the Eldor Corporation, for "its
innovative ionising current project which contributed to improving the
performance of Ferrari cars."
Shell - The "Ferrari Innovation Award" was presented by CEO Jean Todt to Bruno
Motta, Chairman of Shell Brands AG, for his company's "ongoing innovation in its
own products which contributed to improving the performance of our F1 and GT
cars."
Magna International - The "President's Award" was presented by Luca di
Montezemolo to Siegfried Wolf, co-CEO of Magna International, for all-round
collaboration in the development of new Ferrari cars both through development
processes and innovative components."
The event also provided an opportunity for a look-back at Ferrari's 60 years of
technological innovation, during which particularly significant technological
advances developed and applied by the Prancing Horse in the course of its
history were highlighted, demonstrating the fundamental role R&D has played at
the Company since its earliest days.
Eligio Re Fraschini S.p.A.
Founded by Eligio ReFraschini in Legnano in 1946 and now co-headed by his sons
Piero and Massimo, Eligio Re Fraschini manufactures and exports composite racing
components, aeronautical equipment and accessories across the globe. Its
products are all manufactured using high tech processes and plant. The company
has been supplying equipment to Team Ferrari for over 20 years now and since
2001 has been providing it with carbon-fibre components for its F1 cars. Eligio
Re Fraschini employs a workforce of 75 employees at its 5,000 square metre
factory in Legnano.
