AMI 2007 LEIPZIG

20.04.2007 THE FIAT LINEA APPEARS IN WESTERN EUROPE FOR THE FIRST TIME

Just a few weeks after is public debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Fiat Bravo is this week making its German motor show debut at AMI 2007 in Leipzig (from April 14 to 22), the new C-segment hatchback lining up alongside the new Linea sedan, which is appearing in Western Europe for the first time.

The Fiat Linea, the new three-box saloon which will be produced by Tofas, Fiat's joint venture partner in Turkey, is making its first appearance outside Turkey in the pavilions of the AMI 2007 fair. The Linea received its world preview during the Istanbul Motor Show late last year, and the model on display in Lepzig also hides its interior secrets ahead of the new model's public debut in Turkey which is now just a few weeks away.

The highlight appearance of the two new Fiat models at the Saxony Fair is accompanied by a display of the full current model range from the Italian car-maker, and first of all by the sporty new Fiat Panda 100 HP which, which as the A-segment range's top-end model, completes the diverse super-compact range. Also taking pride of place is the Fiat Grande Punto, featuring the innovative Blue&Me infotelematic system developed in conjunction with Microsoft's automotive division. The Fiat Sedici, Fiat Croma and Fiat Doblò round off Fiat’s presence at the AMI, without forgetting the Fiat Panda Panda and Fiat Multipla Natural Power natural gas models which embody Fiat’s low environmental impact offer. Quite a different type of publicity is on hand for the new Fiat 500, due to be launched in Germany in the autumn of 2007, and for which visitors can prepare in virtual mode in the "500wantsyou" space.

The new Fiat Bravo expresses the new awareness of the Italian brand both in its styling and contents. It complies with maximum requirements in terms of safety (5 stars in the Euro NCAP test), roominess, acoustic comfort and comfortable seats, drivability and traction, without forgetting visibility and accessibility. The same applies also to the equipment which, with its innovative contents, marks a new reference point for the category. On the new Fiat Bravo, there is also plenty of space for luggage. The new Fiat Bravo is one of the safest cars in its segment. The Bravo was presented to the media at the end of January and made its full public debut in Geneva last month.

The Fiat Linea is proposed in various specifications with equipment usually found only on higher segment vehicles, including the (Blue&Me) infotelematic system, which enhance in-car comfort and functionally of the three-box saloon.

The second leading lady on the Fiat stand is the Fiat Linea which seduces for its elegant, dynamic design and highly comfortable cab, excellent ergonomics and exceptional roominess. The Fiat Linea is proposed in various specifications with equipment usually found only on higher segment vehicles, including the (Blue&Me) infotelematic system, which enhance in-car comfort and functionally of the three-box saloon.  The Fiat Linea offers high level active and passive safety devices. The customer can also choose from a vast range of powerful, economic and environment-friendly gasoline and diesel engines combined with mechanical and automatic gear boxes.

At the fair, there is also dedicated considerable space to vehicles with double fuel supply (natural gas/gasoline) with which the Italian auto-maker opens a new road in the current debate on the climate. The German new car market - Europe's biggest - is proving to be very receptive to 'green' forms of propulsion. Full production examples at AMI 2007 include the Fiat Panda Panda and the Fiat Multipla Natural Power, with protection of the environment and in particular reduction of harmful emissions at the centre of the traditional "gasoline economy lesson of the AMI". Visitors can aso learn correct use of the accelerator under the guidance of an expert during a 30-minute test drive.

Two showcars on the Fiat stand, that couldn't more different as regards size and purpose, contribute to conveying a really special image: the Fiat Grande Punto and the Fiat Ducato Truckster. The silvery sphere of the Concept Lab also attracts attention and in Leipzig the Italian car manufacturer intends to involve visitors to the virtual design of the new Fiat 500. Here, visitors can configure the new Italian runaround with the colours and accessories they desire, giving free rein to their imagination. There are almost no limits on fantasy.
