23.06.2007 FIAT TO SPONSOR ITALIAN SERIE A BEACH SOCCER THIS SUMMER

Fiat Automobiles is Main Sponsor of the Italian national team and the Italian Serie A 2007 Beach Soccer Championship. Fiat Automobiles is becoming increasingly involved in Beach Soccer. The brand has renewed its agreement with the Italian Football Association – National Amateur League, and will be one of the main sponsors of the Italian Beach Soccer Championship and of the Italian national team for 2007.

The Fiat Sedici will this year become the official car of the Italian Championship to be held in major Summer resorts up and down the country, and of the Italian National Team competing in European and world class events. The Fiat Sedici will accompany the entire Championship, which numbers nine stages, starting on June 15 from Termoli, and concluding with the final play-offs in Terracina in the middle of August. The Sedici is a four wheel drive 'crossover' vehicle with serious off road pretensions which Fiat believes is an ideal fit for this series, which also locks into a strategy to target younger car buyers, a theme that has seen the Turin-based carmaker become involved in a whole host of 'adventure' sports disciplines in recent years.
 

Fiat Group Automobiles will be hitting the beaches this summer as it will once again be one of the main sponsors of the Italian Serie A Beach Soccer Championship and of the Italian national team.

FIAT GRANDE PUNTO

Last year Fiat closely supported the Beach Soccer series where the Fiat Grande Punto was the "official car" of the championships, making high profile appearances at each of the events.


The San Benedetto del Tronto event is particularly important as it will host the Italian stage of the Euroleague, the prestigious European championships in which the “Azzurri”, the Italian National Beach Soccer team, will play against the strongest European teams.

Last year Fiat Group Automobiles closely supported the Italian Serie A Beach Soccer series where the Fiat Grande Punto was the "official car" of the championships, the B-segment hatchback making high profile appearances at each of the events. Together with a strong marketing approach which included large 'Fiat' emblazoned balloons at the corners of the temporary stadiums, the Fiat brand was well exposed through this initiative. Now carried on into the 2007 season his is yet another interesting, innovative sponsorship by Fiat, in support of a strongly emerging summer sport like Beach Soccer, which offers plenty of spectacle, entertainment, team spirit and loyalty.
