Alessandro
Del Piero, Captain of Juventus Football Club, was
recently presented with a brand new Fiat 500 by Lorenzo
Sistino, General Executive Manager of Fiat Automobiles
SpA. It’s appropriate that Alessandro, who plays in the
number 10 jersey for Juventus, was also given the tenth
Fiat 500 - a 1.4-litre petrol version in classic white -
to roll off the production line in Tychy, Poland.
Del Piero is one of Italy's most famous football players
and was part of the national team that lifted the FIFA
World Cup in Germany last year. For his Serie A
club, Juventus, he has scored over 200 goals and made
over 500 appearances during the 14 years he has played
for them. The hand-over of the 500 was performed at
Fiat’s Mirafiori Motor Village, a mega flagship showroom
located just next to the historical Mirafiori plant in
Turin.
The 500 has been
launched in Italy and France to critical acclaim (where
demand far exceeds supply) - and in the next few weeks it
will go on sale in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and
Austria, with the rest of Europe following shortly
thereafter. The 500's order book stands at over 80,000 units
and accounts from production supply into 2008. |
