						Marangoni Tyre,
in association with Florence tuning firm TRC Italia,
will present for its public debut at the Essen Motor Show
next month, the most extreme interpretation of the Fiat
500 seen yet, which has been dubbed the 5-0-0. As well
as Marangoni Tyre and TRC Italia, a number of other
companies have contributed their areas of expertise to
						this concept project.
						Since its
glamorous launch in front of the eyes of the world in Turin on 4th
July, Europe's leading styling and tuning concerns, such
as the historic Milanese firm Carrozzeria Castagna, have
rushed out to offer their own interpretations of the car
that has received public and media acclaim and has won
the prestigious Car of the Year award just ten
						days ago.
						TRC Italia
already develops a package for the Fiat Grande Punto
with braking and suspension upgrades featuring as well
as bodykits and new light units. Other brands the firm
turns its attention to include Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW,
Citroen, Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Lexus,
Mazda, Mercedes, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel,
Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Rover, Seat, Škoda, Subaru,
						Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.

Now comes its latest coachbuilt special, and with outrageous
new body styling and a raft of improvements under the
skin, the Fiat 5-0-0 will emphasise its 'Made in Italy'
heritage through the red, white and green colours of the
Italian flag vividly emblazoned on the door mirrors. To
be presented at the tuning show by Marangoni Tyre
it will be shod with the German firm's 205/40 R17
						rubber.

The styling kit can only be described as
extreme, with a new front end that encompasses a huge
swage of mesh allowing maximum air to flow into the
engine bay. The front bumper moulds its way onto the wings, with
a similar treatment being meted out at the rear where the arches wrap
round into a deep and bulbous bumper which features a
single cut out for the exhaust tail pipe. New chunky side
						skirts complete the dramatic makeover.
Under the skin the 5-0-0 features a Mariani supercharger
fitted to the 1.4-litre 16v petrol engine that features
						on
this 'Sports' version. 10-groove and mutli-drilled 320 mm
brake discs fitted to new calipers, both supplied by
Tarox, pump up its stopping power. Cecam are also a
supplier, as is Oxigin, who provide the eye-catching 7.5 x
17" wheels that are shoehorned into the new bulging
arches. The uprated suspension is courtesy of German
firm KW, who have already realised a range of tuning
products for the 500, while the paintwork and decals come
from ADG Michelangelo - ADM Painting. Finally any
tuned-up car needs improved music delivery, and the new
sound system is tailored for the 5-0-0 by Elaborando
						in Rome.
					The Essen Motor
Show is celebrating a major anniversary. This year, the
global fair for automobiles, tuning, motor sport and classic
cars will take place at the Messe Essen for the 40th time,
from 1-9 December. The international tuning elite meets up
at the Essen Motor Show. With a love of detailed development
and with the aspiration to technical perfection, the tuning
sector is repeatedly opening up new dimensions for the
individually designed automobile. After Essen, the 5-0-0 is expected to be shown at major
tuning shows around Europe next year. |
