Fiat Auto
Poland is realigning its product line-up for 2008,
stating that in January it will discontinue two models
from the range, the Albea (saloon) and the Stilo
Multiwagon (estate). The locally-built Fiat 600 will
continue to be offered on the Polish market, but only as
a limited-edition-series model.
These two models will join several others that have been
jettisoned from the Polish range during the last two
years. The Fiat Multipla was dropped from the line-up in
May 2006, with the last examples being sold in January
this year. The Fiat Ulysse (MPV) was axed in late
January 2007, at the same time as the
previous-generation Fiat Punto was also phased out.
The company says it will no longer take customer orders
for the Albea and Stilo Multiwagon models, while it is
now looking to clear the current inventories.
Presently, Fiat is Poland's third biggest brand for new
car sales with 25,730 units (during the January-November period) and is up
14.8 percent year-on-year. However, the company's market
share fell to 9.7 percent from the 10.3 percent it held
during the corresponding year-ago period. The company's
market share however fell to 9.7 percent from the 10.3
percent in the corresponding year-ago period.
