At a press conference in Seoul, Stephan Winkelmann said that Lamborghini is set to its sports cars in South Korea from next year.

Lamborghini SpA, the Italian sports-car unit of Volkswagen AG, said Friday it will sell its luxury sports cars in South Korea next year through a local dealership to take advantage of the country's booming market for imported vehicles.

At a press conference in Seoul, Lamborghini President Stephan Winkelmann said his company would target South Korean drivers in the age bracket of 30s and 40s.

Lamborghini would sell Gallardo and Murciélago cars priced as much as 538 million won (US$587,000) including taxes in South Korea, according to the company's statement.

Sales of imported cars in South Korea are expected to grow 12 percent to 45,500 units this year, according to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association. The association predicted sales of imported cars in South Korea to reach 70,000 units by 2010. (Report: Asia Pulse Data Source).
