The Maserati stand project at the Geneva Motor
Show this spring has won a
Stevie Award in the Tradeshow or Convention category at the fourth annual
International Business Awards, the world’s only international, all-encompassing
business awards program.
The launch of the Maserati GranTurismo at Geneva set standards that the Maserati
display dazzlingly exceeded. In doing so, the authenticity, innovation and style
that characterise the car were reflected in the stand’s excellent design. The
Maserati stand, created in association with Studio Marco Morosini, and the
materials used provided a stunning backdrop of light and sound.
The Stevie Awards, has reaffirmed the Modenese company's individual style, one characterised by
unique elegance, charisma and an ability to stay one step ahead of the
competition.
The Stevie Awards were created to
honour and
generate public recognition of the efforts, accomplishments,
and positive contributions of companies and business people
worldwide. Beginning with The American Business Awards
in 2002, The International Business Awards in
2003, The Stevie Awards for Women in Business in 2004, and
the Selling Power Sales Excellence Awards in 2006 our
mission is to raise the profile of exemplary companies and
individuals among the press, the business community, and the
general public. The New York Post called the
Stevies "the business world's own Oscar Awards."
The Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors of the
International Business Awards features many of the leading
figures in business worldwide while sponsors include several
of the top business publishers and marketers.
This years
fourth edition of the awards saw the United Kingdom claiming
15 International Stevie Award winners, including BT
Conferencing for Best Multinational Company in Europe and
TeleCity Redbus for Best New Company. South Korean
organisations won 13 Stevies.

Stevie is taken from the name Stephen, which is derived
from the Greek for "crowned." R.S. Owens, the same company that makes the Oscar®, Emmy,
and Clio Awards, designed the Stevie, the trophy of
The International Business Awards. Stevie is approximately 16 inches tall, and is hand-cast
and finished in 24-karat gold. The crystal pyramid held aloft by Stevie represents the
hierarchy of human needs, a system often represented as a
pyramid that was developed in the 1960s by psychologist
Abraham Maslow, who observed that after their basic needs
are met, human beings seek the esteem of their peers.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner ceremony on
Monday, September 10 at the Munich Marriott Hotel in Munich,
Germany. Premier sponsor of the event will be the German
State of Bavaria.
