Maserati’s
most recent product website has scooped a major
international award. The GranTurismo site dedicated to
the new Pininfarina-designed coupé and enhanced by the
innovative car configurator that allows over 4,000,000
different combinations, has won the ‘Automotive’
category at the W³ Golden Awards.
The W³ Awards
honours creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the
creative and marketing professionals behind award winning
sites, videos and marketing programs. Simply put, the W³ is
the first major web competition to be accessible to the
biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in
between. Small firms are as likely to win as Fortune 500
companies and international agencies.
The W³ is
sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the
Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier
professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media,
interactive, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members
include executives from organizations such as Alloy,
BRANDWEEK, Coach, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder,
HBO, iNDELIBLE, Monster.com, MTV, Omnicom, Polo Ralph
Lauren, Refinery, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Victoria’s
Secret, Wired, Yahoo!, and many others.
Further recognition for Maserati came in reaching the finals
of the International Business Awards in the Best Brand
building/Promotional Website category. Created with the
contribution of Arachno Srl and DSM Lab, the
www.granturismoisback.com site stands out for the decisive
impact of its graphics. These are on a par with the highest
standards in today’s visual communications. The site is also
characterised by its ingenuity, efficiency, ease-of-use and
ethical values.
Herbert Appleroth, Maserati’s Director of Marketing,
reflected: “Maserati has a long tradition of innovation and
excellence in web design, one only has to think back to the
award won in 2004 for the best luxury car site in the world.
The GranTurismo site, like its configurator, once again
places our company at the top of this segment. The numerous
prizes collected by our websites is testimony to this."
