Maserati has organised the first GranTurismo test drive in Asia. A select group of journalists from the eight main Asian titles had the opportunity to get a closer look at Maserati’s new, Pininfarina-designed, elegant coupé. The press tested the car on Sentosa Island’s highways in Singapore.

The event was the first that Maserati has organised specifically for Asian journalists, testimony to the region’s growing commercial importance for the Modenese company. The Maserati GranTurismo earned rave reviews from journalists from Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.

The car’s sumptuous lines and its refined but comfortable interior are the perfect blend of elegance and sportiness typical of Maseratis. This proved a particularly winning formula for the GranTurismo, as it generated enormous interest.

However, it was the road test, limited to a lucky group of 32 journalists, that amazed everyone present. The new Maserati coupé provided yet more evidence of its smooth and precise handling, its reliability and safety but, above all, demonstrated once more how much of a pleasure it is to drive.
