					Milan-based
coachbuilder Carrozzeria Castagna has released brief information
					of a new one-off
supercar that will debut at the Top Marques Monaco
exhibition in Monte Carlo next month. Following a host of Mini specials
in recent years and the massive
					Imperial
Landaulet concept car from last year, Castagna has now created a
different breed of prototype with their latest creation,
which offers shades of their Ferrari-based 'Rossellini' from
					2004.

This new two-seater from Castagna, which is as yet unnamed,
has compact outer proportions, with a
					low roofline
and an H-point close to the rear axle. The carbon fibre
					bodywork is
sleek and aggressive, with relatively slab-sided flanks and
					chiselled
					wheel arches.

Castagna have revealed some brief information on this
project, emphasising its exclusive, one-off nature, which
fits in perfectly with the revived coachbuilder's motto of
"no two the same". This new supercar, which will feature an
aluminium chassis under  its carbon-fibre bodywork,
will be as powerful as it is muscular, with an engine that
pumps out 700 bhp at 6,200
rpm and 950 Nm of torque at
3,800rpm. Castagna also hint at a race track pedigree, with
					top speed is a claimed 350 km/h while 0-100 km/h is achieved
					in 3.4 seconds and 0-260 km/h in 9.5 seconds.

The new project fits neatly into Castagna's philosophy of
building exclusive, bespoke supercars. Under the guidance of
Gioacchino Acampora, the famous coachbuilder was revived in
1996 with an unusual Alfa 75-based showcar. Since then they
have built several one-off sportscars, as well as an array
					of Mini specials.

					"This is our
mission; this is the Castagna Studio," says the
					Carrozzeria's mission statement. "Building
splendid custom-built vehicles today, as in the past, starts
with a chassis, loaded with anything that you can dream of. Daily we transform the most original requests into
projects to be created, while the desire for innovation and
to find creative solutions becomes our by-word. Today,
just as then, a team of designers, craftsmen and creative
specialists, led by architect Gioacchino Acampora, allows us
to create vehicles made to measure, with all the class and
technical expertise that made history. Made for the
person who does not simply want a motorcar, but a unique
object that reflects his/her lifestyle," add Castagna.

					After three editions,
Top Marques Monaco has now become an indelible landmark
in the automobile heritage of the Principality of Monaco. A car show dedicated
solely to the luxury and supercar markets, it is a car show like none other in
the world. This is the venue Carrozzeria Castagna will
choose for the public debut their new project. The Principality of Monaco,
					is the
perfect scenographic setting for any event; a land steeped in automobile history
with some of the most grandiose moments ever lived under the blue skies of the
sunny Mediterranean. And then there are the stars, the most beautiful and
powerful machines in a panoramic display of beauty, speed,
technology, craftsmanship, and sheer passion. However it is
not just another car show, Top Marques Monaco is also
an excellent business-to-business platform. Companies and
luxury articles from around the world help make a statement about luxury and affluence in the world, no
longer a commodity of just a privileged few.
