09.10.2007 FIAT POWERTRAIN TECHNOLOGIES AT THE GENOA BOAT SHOW

Technological excellence, innovation and a very wide range of products and applications are the predominant features of FPT - Fiat Powertrain Technologies making it a world-wide leader in the powertrain sector.

From 6 to 14 October, Genoa International Boat Show is back. The reference event for the pleasure boating sector as a whole, organised by Fiera di Genova SpA and UCINA (the Italian Marine Industry Association) will take place at Genoa fairground. Boasting the attendance 1,500 companies and 2,300 boats, hundreds of new products on preview, and a large number of foreign exhibitors (37%) the show will include the following sectors: power boats, sailing boats, inflatables, engines, technical apparel, fishing equipment, nautical tourism and services. Techtrade - the "Show within the Show"  devoted to the accessories and instrument sector - will be in the spotlight too, and will feature a more rational and enjoyable layout.

Genoa International Boat Show is the only one in the world including such a large marina - more than 400 boats hosted in 2006 up to 45 meters -, wide outdoor areas, and world-class areas like the ones under the tensile structure overlooking the sea, all in one single site. The Show currently features 8 kilometres of pathways on the sea, including jetties, bridges, quays, and elevated promenades, plus traditional routes. The presence of worldwide boating in Genoa also means nine days of business, meetings, innovation with the presence of leading experts, institutional representatives, opinion leaders, and past and present sport champions.  Opportunities to be seized and promoted for the development of small boating will be the leading theme of the conferences organised by UCINA during the Show.

The engines presented by Fiat Powertrain Technologies at the Genoa exhibition (Stand T3, Pavillion C-Terreno) are the proof, representing the results of a complete renovation in the entire range of FPT-Fiat Powertrain Technologies for marine applications.

This renovation enables the Fiat Group sector, with its 5 series and 31 models having a power range from 20 to 863 Hp, to fully meet the dynamic evolution requirements of pleasure and professional applications in this sector. The range of products exhibited at Genoa, with displacements from 3.0 to 12.9 liters, fully achieves the company mission with “extra” features, common to the entire range, that guarantee customer satisfaction.

In fact, the FPT - Fiat Powertrain Technologies range boasts cross winning features to all the products. Regarding performance, high torques at low speeds is common to all the models, ensuring better gliding. This high performance level is not detrimental to the respect of the environment, ensured by the reduced levels of noise, gaseous emissions and vibrations, in compliance with the limits prescribed by IMO MARPOL- 2003/44/EC- EPA standards.

The reliability of the engines is a benchmark of the FPT - Fiat Powertrain Technologies products offer, distinguished by compact and functional design, long life of the engines and high quality of the components. With lower operating costs and flexibility of configuration, obtained by reduction in fuel consumption, longer times between maintenance/overhaul operations and availability of accessories, FPT - Fiat Powertrain Technologies engines are versatile and have a wide and diversified range of use. Full electronic management, “common rail” and “pump injector” high pressure combustible injection systems and multivalve cylinder heads are the main technologies that mark out the S, N and C series on display at the 47th International Show at Genoa.
