in New York, Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne announced the news
that all Alfisti and automotive enthusiasts the world over
had been waiting for, namely that the stunning Alfa 8C
Spider, the breathtaking ‘wind in the hair’ version of the
just-in-production 8C Competizione, will arrive in 2009. At
Mangoletsi we pride ourselves in being fast off the mark.
But in addition, and so relevant in an age where we care
about our environment, this Alfa 8C Spider will come with
zero emissions – all for £249!
The Mangoletsi’
Alfa 8C Spider, is however, aimed squarely at a growing
market segment that is currently untapped by Alfa Romeo –
those of 5 years and under. This authentic reproduction car
features all the stunning styling that made the Alfa Romeo
Centro Stile-designed Alfa 8C Spider, and its coupé sister
the Alfa 8C Competizione, two of the world’s most
talked-about and desired exotic cars since the Ferrari
Enzo. This version, which features tough, scratch-resistant
bright red plastic bodywork, is powered by an electric motor
and features forward, reverse and neutral gears. And
although it can zip up to 5 km/h, safety for the little ones
is ensured as the car stops when the accelerator is
released, while the electronic brake also overrides the
accelerator when depressed. A perfect Christmas present for
all those budding young Lewis Hamiltons and Kimi Raikkonens
looking for pole position on the ‘ladder’ to Formula 1.
Alongside the
electric Alfa 8C Spider in the showroom comes the Alfa
Brera. And just like the 8C Spider, it has an authentic
Alfa Romeo sports steering wheel, door mirrors and realistic

a maximum speed of 5 km/h (£249), it is also available with

pedal power (£149). Both cars come fully-badged, and
proudly bear the famous Alfa Romeo ‘heart’ at the front.
