In
celebration of its clean sweep of titles in the FIA GT
Championship, the Vitaphone and Scuderia Playteam MC12s
took to the Shell Arena at Bologna over the weekend to
duel before the packed and enthusiastic crowds in the
grandstands.
It has been
a record year for the Maserati MC12 in the FIA GT
Championship after the Modena marque claimed the
Drivers', Teams' and Manufacturers' titles. German team
Vitaphone Racing, now in their third season with the
MC12 wrapped up an impressive third consecutive Teams'
title, while Thomas Biagi claimed the Drivers' title.
Meanwhile, in their first year in the series having
graduated from the Italian GT Championship, Scuderia
Playteam Sarafree finished second in the Team's
standing.
In the Shell
Arena at the Bologna Motor Show newly crowned champion
Biagi would pilot the turquoise and black No 1 Vitaphone
MC12 on the temporary circuit up against the 2006 FIA GT
Champion Andrea Bertolini, who would be driving the blue
and silver No 11 Scuderia Playteam Sarafree example in a
head-to-head showdown that enthralled the fans.
