The critical
acclaim surrounding the Fiat 500 shows no sign of
fading: so far, the international awards garnered by the
new model have included the Car of the Year 2008,
EuroCarBody 2007, European Car 2008 and Auto più Bella
del Mondo 2008 titles. To celebrate the 500’s triumphs,
Fiat will be dedicating an entire stand to it at the
2007 Bologna Motor Show.
Designed
jointly by the Fiat Styling Center and the global design
group GTP-Gruppo Thema Progetti, the display area blends
the elegantly essential with smooth flowing lines that
carry the spectator into a fantastic world of emotions
and the imagination. Crowned by an enormous reproduction
of the Fiat 500 that serves as the hub of a spectacular
carousel, the stand also features a greensward of
artificial grass: two picnic areas where fourteen Fiat
500s in a kaleidoscope of colours are surrounded by
tablecloths and wicker hampers. It’s a striking scene,
and one that’s enormously effective in conveying all of
the style, the fantasy and the glamour that the words
“Made in Italy” call instantly to mind.
Spinning in
and out and round about the stand’s giant
five-times-life-size Fiat 500, five different models of
the new car – two Sport versions equipped with the 100
horsepower 1.4-liter 16-valve engine, two Lounge outfits
with the 1.3-liter Multijet and 1.4-liter 16-valve
powerplants, and a Fiat 500 Pop with the 1.3-liter
Multijet – revolve on five different orbits, each
enlivened by light effects, projected images and its own
sound track. With their jewel-bright colours that
bespeak the vibrant spirit of the new car, the five Fiat
500s thus form a merry-go-round that carries visitors on
a four-minute ride. Electrifyingly unique, the spectacle
can hardly fail to fascinate: it’s not every day that
you see the dashboard of a car magnified to five times
its size.
With its enormous visual impact, this original
exhibition space is the perfect setting for discovering
the Fiat 500, emblem and manifesto of the “New Fiat”:
the embodiment of a new approach, of the brand’s
reinvigorated strategies, of a whole new way of seeing
the car. Exactly 50 years after the Fiat 500’s namesake
– icon of Italian motoring history and an entire period
in the country’s life – first burst on the market, Fiat
is heading into the future, picking up speed as it goes.
One corner of the stand showcases Fiat Group Automobiles
Financial Services, the company that provides answers to
the mobility needs of private customers, SMEs and
businesspeople in full partnership with the Fiat Group
Automobiles brands. In Italy, Sava provides private
customers with personalized financing products that can
be combined with the innovative insurance services for
new and used car purchases.
For the Fiat 500, Sava has developed two special offers:
“500 cents”, only €5 a day puts you behind the wheel of
the legend (while an extension of the program offers
additional advantages to those under 30 years of age);
and “50to500”, the solution for buyers who prefer to pay
cash: 50% up front and the remaining 50% after two
years, with no payments in between. In addition,
Savarent offers long-term leasing for businesses and
professional people, guaranteeing high quality service
through outlets located across the country.
