29.11.2007 FIAT PROFESSIONAL WILL CELEBRATE A SUCCESSFUL YEAR IN BOLOGNA

FIAT FIORINO

On the strength of its commercial successes and the critical acclaim it has received this year, Fiat Professional will be at the Bologna Motor Show next month with a range led out by the new Fiorino.

The 2007 Bologna Motor Show will be held from 7-16 December, and on the strength of its commercial successes and the critical acclaim received this year, Fiat Professional will also be attending this international event. The undisputed stars of the show will be the Scudo and Fiorino models: the first was recently named “International Van of the Year 2008”, while the recent launch of the second model attracted great interest from press and public alike.

A big attraction at the Bologna event will be a show van based on the Scudo Panorama Executive. With its distinctive, forceful styling, it is bound to be a big hit with visitors to the 2007 Motor Show. The brand new version features 19” wheels and very distinctive roof rails combined with a few touches of chrome and tinted windows. The same distinctive look can be found inside the show van, as can be seen from the specific upholstery for all three rows of seats, and the original painting of some components. Obviously, the display vehicle has all the winning characteristics of the Executive version: the comfort and style typical of people carriers, elegant internal upholstery and a wealth of extras. Special care has been taken with noise reduction and climate control. The Scudo Executive is the perfect solution for high-class transport services: shuttle buses for large hotels or limousine taxi services for the five-star tourist market.

The other main attraction is the brand new Fiorino. Unique in its class, it has been designed for anyone looking for a compact van that is economical to run, agile in busy traffic and easy to handle when parking. The new Fiorino is set to rewrite the rule book for the 1B segment, and will play a starring role in the market for light commercial vehicles. At the 2007 Motor Show, two stylistic “interpretations” of the model produced by the Styling Centre at Fiat Group Automobiles will be on show: the Fiorino “# 1” and the Fiorino “Globy”.

The eye-catching styling of the first model conveys the reliability, safety and agility of the latest addition to the Professional series, thanks to the world’s most famous goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, also the ambassador for the new Fiorino launch campaign. The association with Buffon also explains the van’s “# 1” nametag: the “#” symbol stands for “number” and is used by the goalkeeper in his autographs to represent the number on his Juventus and Italy shirts. We should point out that Fiat Professional has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Italian national football team, as confirmation that the brand’s values of professionalism, performance and innovation are reflected in the sporting and personal values of the team coached by Roberto Donadoni. Meanwhile, the Fiorino “Globy” embodies the young, urban side of the future people carrier. Together with the safety and solidity typical of a commercial vehicle from Fiat Professional, this original van also has a dynamic, robust and distinctive exterior.

Both models are fitted with a Euro-4 compliant 1.3 Multijet turbodiesel engine (75 bhp), the ideal solution for customers who want a green engine that is reliable, thrifty on fuel, inexpensive to run and eco-friendly, but one that also offers elasticity and great torque even at low speeds, which makes the vehicle pleasant to drive even in city traffic.
