Continuing their tradition of sportive
good taste, Alfa Romeo has launched the special edition 147
C’N’C CoSTUME NATIONAL at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The 147
C’N’C’ was developed together with designer Ennio Capasa.
Hailing from the heel of Italy’s boot –
the town of Lecce – Ennio Capasa was raised on fashion. His
parents were owners of several exclusive boutiques
showcasing a glamorous abundance of couture. As a child
Capasa despised fashion, but the allure of design lead him
to enrol in the Milan Academy of Fine Arts in 1982. After
graduating, Capasa initially worked for Yohji
Yamamoto in Tokyo. Upon returning to Italy, Ennio
Capasa founded CoSTUME NATIONAL together with his brother,
Carlo. The fashion house, which was founded in 1986, focused
on the “French Uniform”, with the company presenting their
first collection in 1987. By doing so Capasa embraced his
fashion beginnings and today designs clothes that straddle
the line between everyday wear and on-the-town elegance.
The Alfa Romeo 147 therefore lends itself
as a perfect synergy for Capasa, representing a practical
everyday hatchback with the flowing good looks and heritage
of a high-class brand. With the Alfa 147 C’N’C CoSTUME
NATIONAL, Capasa was inspired by the music world –Pop, Indie,
and Garage – as well as street culture and multimedia. The
147 C’N’C CoSTUME NATIONAL is a limited edition run, with
only 1,000 units scheduled for production. The car is unique
through a number of features, notably the use of pearlescent
“Eldorado White” paintwork and a chrome-plated exhaust
terminal.

The distinct features continue with gloss black wing mirror
casings, darkened rear light lenses, rear spoiler, and
eye-catching 17” turbine-design alloy wheels finished in a
special sparkle-effect anthracite colour. Furthermore the
car includes 147 C’N’C’ logos on the matte-black door
pillars and tailgate. Inside the 147 C’N’C’ continues its
elegant and dynamic style, with sports seats upholstered in
leather and comfortable perforated Alcantara with a jacquard
tone-on-tone pattern. The black pillars, black headlining
and trims provide a fashionable contrast to the pearlescent
exterior paint scheme. Other features such as white on red
instruments, unique carpet mats with identity plate and
aluminium skirt strips, underline this cars sporty
personality.
Whereas the 147 C’N’C’ is available in 3-
and 5-door versions, the example on display at the Frankfurt
Motor Show is a 5-door, equipped with the powerful 150 bhp
1.9 JTDM engine. The car comes standard with a host of
safety features including VDC, ASR, ABS, EBD and 6 airbags.
There is also a range of options to customise the car even
further, including a Bose Hi-Fi system with subwoofer,
lowered sport suspension, Xenon headlights, satellite
navigation and an antitheft system.
