Last Saturday (28th April) in the city of Pomerode/SC, the
second stage of the Brazilian Rally Championship took
place. After one of the most disputed rallies in recent
years, the leaderboard constantly changed all long the
109 kilometers, contested from the beginning up to the
end of the race. The Fiat crew, Fabio Dall'
Agnol/Marcelo Dalmut, claimed their second consecutive
victory with Palio Abarth Rally in the category N2 (1.6
engine, 4x2 traction and limited preparation) to retain
their lead of the championship, the pair now with 20
points.
“It was a very disputed rally and each second (the
winner arrived at the finish line just three seconds
ahead of the second placed crew) was important for this
victory, we hope to keep the same performance in the
next rally, that will be a very especial one to me, as
it will be realised in my home town," said Dall' Agnol,
the 20 year old driver who is the youngest pilot in the
series. The Ulysses Bertholdo/Sidinei Broering crew
arrived at the chequered flag in the second place.
In the A6 category (1.6 engine 4x2 traction free
preparation), the crew of the factory Fiat Rally team,
Luis Tedesco/Bruno Mega, finished the race in second and
went up two places in the classification of the
championship. During the race the team tried to find the
ideal tuning for the suspension, something that was not
successfully achieved, and it affected their final
result in the race.
"We had to deal with several different tracks, something
that deeply affected the car, we tried different kinds
of suspension adjustments, but whenever we changed for
the next stage, we found another kind of track not
suitable for the tuning which we previously had made,"
said Tedesco, who is in third position in the
competition with 11 points.
