03.12.2007 N.TECHNOLOGY AND ALFA ROMEO'S SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP ENDS

ALFA 156

With a string of international touring car titles already in the bag including the prestigious European title, the Alfa 156 SuperTouring 2000 is assured its place in Alfa Romeo’s glorious racing history.

Following eighteen years of successful partnership, next week’s 32nd edition of the Bologna Motor Show will see the end of N.Technology’s sporting activities with Alfa Romeo and the Fiat Group.

Featuring World Touring Car Championship driver James Thompson and MotoGP Ducati rider Marco Melandri, the Motor Show marks N.Technology Alfa Romeo’s seventh appearance in the Bologna race.

“It is extremely poignant to see the end of such a successful relationship,” said Team Principal Mauro Sipsz. “Together with Fiat and Alfa Romeo, we have achieved numerous victories in motorsport including in the 10 years of 156 history: six Drivers', three Manufacturers' and four Teams' Championships."

With a string of international touring car titles in the bag including the prestigious European title, the Alfa 156 SuperTouring 2000 is assured its place in Alfa Romeo’s glorious racing history. This year was its final year in the hands of N.Technology on the world stage, and with no major close season changes it was expected to simply make up the numbers behind the big-budget factory BMW and SEAT teams. However no one had told the Alfa 156, the N.Technology team, and lead driver James Thompson. With an amazing early season double victory (in Valencia) Thompson climbed the podium on a further six occasions, stayed in the title hunt to the very last race in Macau and finished the season third in the drivers’ standings, just two points off second place. One of the mighty performances of the year.

“This year has once again shown the might of the 156, with two wins, eight podiums and third place in the WTCC drivers Championship," adds Sipz. "With such competitiveness shown this season, we would be pleased to see another team reach such success with this car in 2008 WTCC or National Championships.”

Four Alfa Romeo 156 Super 2000 WTCC race cars now are available for sale - ready to run - rebuilt and 2008 updated at 160,000.00 euros each including a spare parts set (excluding taxes/delivery). N.Technology is able to proceed in the developing of the car and to offer its customers with technical and customer support. In the meantime, N.Technology is carrying on the negotiations with other Manufacturers to define future sporting activities.
