On January 11 the first customer
destined Alfa 8C
Competizione in the Netherlands was unveiled during a
festive gathering at Alfa Romeo Nederland in Houten.
Accompanied by Frits Kroymans, Chairman of the Kroymans
Group, the Italian ambassador in the Netherlands, His
Excellence Gaetano Cortese gladly removed the Italian
flag from this stunning sports car.
Over 70 serious requests for this car had been made in the
Netherlands, but only 10 cars have been allocated to the
Dutch market. The total production of this real Italian
sports car has been set to a maximum of 500.
The Italian ambassador in the Netherlands, Mr. Cortese, told
the audience about his passion for beauty: “Since my
childhood I have adored Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati.
I’m really thrilled about this fantastic 8C. It proves, once
again, that Italy is worldwide leading in design.”
The guests of the traditional Alfa Romeo New Year’s lunch
did not only get the chance to take a look at the Alfa 8C,
they were also treated on the impressive engine roar of the
V8.
General manager Henk Salomons mentioned in his welcome
speech the enormous success of Alfa Romeo in the Netherlands
in 2007, especially in the business segment. Introducing the
Alfa 147 Business Pro and Alfa 159 Business Pro, he expects
to expand on this success in 2008. Moreover he announced the
return of Alfa Romeo in the upper B-segment in autumn 2008,
with the Alfa ‘Junior’.
