Today Ferrari is present at 2008 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition with its line-up, providing a visual feast of passion for all audience. Taking pride in place at the Ferrari stand is the 612 Scaglietti. The model is used to inaugurate the new One-to-One Personalisation Programme, which is making its debut in Asia at the 10th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.

Other models on display includes 430 Scuderia, an evidence of the brand's tradition and ability to translate F1 technology into its production vehicles; 599 GTB Fiorano, the most high performance mid-front engined two-seater Ferrari ever produced; and F430 Spider, the classic convertible model which boasts Ferrari's cutting- edge technology.

One-to-One Personalisation Programme

The 612 Scaglietti is the model being used to inaugurate the new One-to-One Personalisation Programme. Ferrari intends to allow every client to fully personalise this flagship model, courtesy of a wide array of new content as well as the options available through the existing Carrozzeria Scaglietti Programme.

In fact, a special dedicated "atelier" area has been set up at the factory in which clients can put together their very own 612 Scaglietti accessory by accessory, detail by detail. In exactly the same way as they would at an haute couture fashion house. Owners can choose details, materials, flourishes, finishes and accessories that suit their own needs. Ferrari dedicated Programme consultants in Maranello will assist the clients to make their selections and work directly with them at every stage of defining their car's specifications. This program will allow owners to have a truly bespoke car.

Naturally, despite the many variations on offer, the Ferrari flagship's benchmark quality and styling characteristics will remain unchanged. No modifications will be permitted that would impinge on the signature Prancing Horse safety and reliability. All of these unique new 612 Scagliettis will be built in a dedicated assembly area at the Maranello factory. A compact version of the real atelier on the stand will allow audience to have first-hand experience of Ferrari's unique One-to-One Personalization Programme.

612 Scaglietti

The new 612 Scaglietti incorporate a series of technical evolutions that reflect the Ferrari philosophy of constantly introducing innovations in each model. Most notably, the V12 flagship now boasts an electrochromic panoramic roof which covers the entire top of the cabin. This has the dual advantage of giving occupants the feeling of driving along in a drop-top whilst enjoying the comfort and safety of a coupé. However, this is no ordinary panoramic roof. It is made from electrochromic glass which can be changed at the touch of a button to adjust the levels of sunlight allowed into the cabin. The electrochromic glass solution was developed in close collaboration with Saint Gobain, a partner with whom Ferrari has most recently developed a similar highly innovative solution for the Superamerica.

In addition to its electrochromic roof, the 612 Scaglietti also sports the aptly named SuperFast gearbox which delivers an exceptional gear-shifting time of 100 milliseconds and a reduced inertia clutch to enhance the engine's responsiveness still further. The iconic Ferrari manettino, now featured on the entire range, has also been added to the steering wheel. The 612 Scaglietti is a sumptuous, roomy two-door four-seater that's a pleasure to be aboard regardless of the driving conditions.

430 Scuderia

The 430 Scuderia features a racing soul, which symbolizes the very passion and excitement that enthusiast around the world have come to expect from Ferrari. With a dry weight of 2775 lb (1250 kg) and 503 HP (510 CV) delivered at 8500 rpm by its naturally aspirated 4308 cm3 V8 engine, the 430 Scuderia boasts an extraordinarily low weight-power ratio of just 2.45 kg/hp, which allows it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. Thanks to its sophisticated aerodynamics, F1-SuperFast2 gearbox, that brings to just 60ms the gear-shifting time, and E-Diff coupled with the sophisticated F1-Trac traction control system, this sporty new mid-rear engined berlinetta combines ultra-nimble handling with blistering fast acceleration.

Another models being showcased at Beijing is F430 Spider, a rear-engined 8-cylinder that combines blistering performance with open-top driving pleasure. The F430 Spider has proved an enormous success since its launch and in 2007 won prestige awards from international publications, such as Quattroruote, Autozeitung, Auto Illustrierte and Auto Motor und Sport. Ferrari's sporting history is also represented on the stand by the 599 GTB Fiorano, the highest performance production model ever built at Maranello.

Ferrari China

Ferrari and Maserati are both represented in China market by a joint venture, Ferrari Maserati Cars International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., whose majority share is held by Ferrari S.p.A. The company was set up in Aug 2004 with the headquarters in Shanghai, and oversees all market expansion and sales network development, as well as technical support and spare parts procurement. Ferrari China has established an exclusive relationship with its loyal clients and enthusiasts. At present, Ferrari has built up a comprehensive sales and service network stretching across 10 major cities in China including Beijing, Dalian, Qingdao, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The best-in-class Ferrari service to customers can be experienced throughout the whole network, with particular regards to Shanghai (where a more luxurious new 3S Centre was inaugurated two days ago), Beijing (which hosts the biggest 3S Centre in Asia) and Guangzhou, a new showroom which is one of the biggest and most equipped workshops in China, will be opened next week. The first Ferrari China Owners' Club will also be established within this year where Ferrari's clients can meet and share their passion for the Prancing Horse. At this point, over 14,000 owners and their cars enjoy a wide range of activities organized by the various Ferrari Clubs around the world.

China is an important strategic market for Ferrari. In 2007, a total of 180 cars were delivered to Chinese customers, represented more than 48% increase in sales over the previous year. Ferrari China is striving to be counted among the most important markets worldwide for the Prancing Horse.

Ferrari Asia-Pacific Region

Asia Pacific Division has been created to represent the Ferrari Headquarter in Asia and Australasia. Lead by Marco Mattiacci, it encompasses 11 markets managed by importers: Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan and Brunei, together with China, where Ferrari is represented by a joint-venture, and Japan, where a directly managed Ferrari Japan KK will be fully operative from the 1st of July, 2008.

According to what Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo recently declared, in the next few years the expectations of sales in the Asia-Pacific Region are to have a considerable percentage growth as Ferrari expands its operation in these markets. The working team is composed of about twenty people. A well-balanced mix will be created, with personnel coming from Maranello, who have an understanding of Ferrari's products and brand values, and local personnel who have invaluable knowledge of the local markets.
