Before the eyes
of the Guinness Book of World Records' jury five hundred Ferraris were all out
on the Fuji circuit at the same moment during the Ferrari Festival Japan 2008,
thus beating the record of 385 Ferraris which was set at the Silverstone circuit
last summer.
Five hundred
Japanese Ferrari owners' met to beat the less than year old
record, and going on the track in front of the Guinness
judges they registered a new record, which will now be
listed in the "Guinness Challenge".
This was the
focal point of a very busy weekend for Ferrari at the Fuji
race circuit where the well attended Ferrari Festival
Japan 2008 took place over the weekend. The historic
Fuji Speedway returned to the Formula 1 calendar last year
after an absence of three decades.
The Ferrari
Festival Japan 2008 programme also featured an intensive
program of the first drivers' courses to be held in Japan,
as well as seeing the dramatic unique track-only sports cars
of the FXX program and
five F1 clients taking to the track which is sited in the foothills of the
spectacular Mount Fuji. There are also major changes set for
the Maranello brand in Japan this summer: as of the upcoming 1st July the
operations of the Japanese market will be
directly managed by Ferrari through a new business division, Ferrari Japan KK.
