Having already
upgraded exclusive supercars such as the Maserati MC12,
Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo and Lamborghini Murciélago
LP640, edo competition has now turned one example of the
Ferrari FXX into a homologated road car. Ferrari devised the
FXX as a track-only car to be used in a special programme
where customer-drivers provide feedback when using the cars
during special events on race tracks the world over.
Now well know German tuner
edo competition has developed one example of the 30 units of
the 800 bhp/689 Nm 6.3-litre V12 engined FXX that were built
in Maranello into a road-legal car. It features a new sport
suspension system with nose lift function. It incorporates
racing suspension technology for the road with adjustable
compression and rebound damping. Independently adjustable
compression and rebound damping permits truly individual
suspension setups. The unique system, with its three
different adjustments, allows for low-speed compression
damping characteristics to be altered while the high-speed
settings, having a strong influence on ride-quality, remain
constant.
Along with the
suspension changes the Edo Competition Ferrari FXX features
a newly developed performance exhaust system and
ew
forged wheels (front: 10 x 19" and rear: 13 x 20" with
Michelin tires 265/35 19 and 335/30 20).
The supercar has
now has approval for road use
along with further
necessary modifications for road use including a
new
windshield made from laminated glass, the fitting of a hand
brake and an immobiliser, as well as a modified lighting
system.
Edo
Karabegovic, was the founder edo competiton Motorsport
GmbH. After his education in a famous Ferrari workshop
in South Germany, he went to work with different racing
teams all around the world. He soon started to perfect
Ferrari and Porsche models technically and visually and
for Karabegovic, the experiences from the racing sports
were very useful. Since the year 2000 Christian
Heitgress has been the foreman and director of the team
and he guides the garage. In 1998, 1999 and 2000 edo
competition won the Team Ferrari Porsche Challenge. In
2001, after the end of the racing series, the team built
a spectacular simulation of a 996 GT3-R for the street
company from the 99th cup Carrera. This was the
beginning of the firms strategy to make individual dream
cars out of standard vehicles.
