automotive trade journal Autoflotte has just announced winners of the 2008
Flotten Award
contest for the most popular fleet vehicles in the market. The Polish-made Fiat
500 was second to none in the minicar category, stealing the limelight from the
likes of Citroen C2 and Renault Twingo.
Judged as the best minicar
by Autoflotte in both the imports category and in the overall
rankings, the Fiat 500 took the
top honours ahead of the Volkswagen Fox, Citroen C2, Toyota Aygo, Smart Fortwo,
and the Renault Twingo.
The winning models of the Flotten Award 2008 contest, ranked overall and
also within
the imported model categories:
- Fiat 500/Fiat 500 (Best Minicar)
- Volkswagen Polo/Skoda Fabia (Best Small Car)
- Audi A3/SEAT Leon (Best Lower-Medium Car)
- Audi A4/Skoda Octavia (Best Upper-Medium Car)
- Audi A6/Volvo V70 (Best Executive Car)
- Audi A8/Lexus LS (Best Luxury Car)
- Volkswagen Touran/Mazda5 (Best Mini-MPV)
- Ford S-MAX/Renault Espace (Best MPV)
- Volkswagen Tiguan/Peugeot 4007 (Best SUV)
- BMW X5/Volvo XC90 (Best Luxury SUV)
- Mercedes-Benz Sprinter/Fiat Ducato (Best Delivery Van)
- Volkswagen Caddy/Skoda Praktik (Best Small Delivery Van)
- Nissan Navara (Best Pick-up)
The
Autoflotte award comes within days of another important
European fleet honour being handed to the Fiat 500, this
time in Poland where, during the Fleet Awards Polska 2008
voting, the locally-built A-segment car was one of the
winners of the coveted Samochod Flotowy Roku 2008
trophy, in the minicar category.
