The Fiat
Bravo has just arrived in Chile, the glamorous launch
event for the national media taking place in
the grounds of Viña Mar, one of the most important wineries
in Chile.
Viña Mar,
located in the city of Casablanca, which is 70 km west of the
Chilean capital Santiago and on the route
to the famous cultural and tourist city of Valparaíso,
now a UNESCO protected 'World Heritage Site', was the
perfect venue to present the new Bravo to the media and
guests. The Bravo was first launched in Rome, Italy last
January and since then the 5-door C-segment hatchback last
been rolled out across European and then worldwide markets
such as Japan, Australia and New Zealand. The versions now
being brought to Chile will be imported directly from the
Cassino factory in Italy when it is built.
The
Bravo will be available on the Chilean market in two
specification versions: Emotion and Sport
(the latter fitted with the dashboard overboost button),
and both are fitted with the 1.4-litre turbocharged T-Jet engine with 150
bhp, and 206 Nm (230 Nm in 'Sport' mode) torque. The standard
and optional equipments lists are the same as the ones which
are offered for these two versions on the European market.
According to Mr. Ricardo Oportot, General Manager of
Fiat in Chile, the Bravo is a very suitable car for Chilean
customers, which search for a mix of comfort and
on-board technology. "We
are confident that this model will be a success in our
country," he commented. "The Bravo is now available in Chile in two versions,
Emotion and Sport, with 150 CV, manufactured entirely in
Italy, to offer the client a car of high standard and
value."
Alfa Romeo and Fiat are under the management of SK Bergé
Group in Chile. SK Bergé are also responsible for the
recent re-launch of the Fiat brand in Mexico. The Bravo 1.4
T-Jet in
Emotion specification costs $11,490,000 Chilean pesos (£12,000)
while the
Sport version is $12,890,000 Chilean pesos (£13,500).
