With sales
in Brazil of 57,876 vehicles during May, Fiat Automóveis
has achieved a figure of
274,144 units sold in the first five months of the year, which represents a
market share of 25 percent, and which keeps Fiat in firmly the leadership in the Brazilian market
for passenger cars
and light commercial vehicles this year.
The accumulated
figure represents an impressive year-on-year growth of 28.1 percent, a new record in relation to the sales in
the same period of last year. Impelled by sales in the internal market, the
total amount of vehicle production in the year has reached 331,086 units after
five months, also a record.
The latest car
models to be launched by Fiat Automóveis onto the Brazilian
market stand out among the best sellers from the
Italian-owned brand.
The newly facelifted 5-door C-segment Stilo,
which is now available with the automatic Dualogic gearbox,
has accumulated a year-on-year growth of 53 percent, with
6,729 units sold during the first 5 months.
The recently
facelifted Siena saloon also
significantly
increased its level of sales with a grown of 37 percent year-on-year, which represent 42,015
units for the year-to-date, while Punto's sales have climbed up to 18,815 units
by the end of May, which is an average over
3,700 cars being sold sold each of the five months. The Strada, with 27,596 units
already sold so far this year, retains
its leadership in the commercial light vehicle segment since 2007. The Brazilian
range was also strengthened last month by the arrival of the
facelifted Palio Weekend, completing the revamping of the
Palio and Siena model range.
