Top Swedish professional skier Jon Anders Olsson is the owner of a unique
Lamborghini Gallardo which has been customised to his tastes and requirements: finished in camouflage colours
the 5.0-litre V10 sportscar is unusually fitted with a roof
rack and a rack mounted ski box.
25 year old Olsson, who
lives in Monte Carlo and has a reputation as a playboy figure on the skiing
circuit, eschews the more traditional SUV route usually taken by the other
competitors and is aided in seeking maximum grip by the Gallardo's built-in four-wheel-drive system on the icy
roads he is usually accustomed to driving on during events or training sessions.
"I walked in to Lamborghini in Monaco and bought it, was a little hard to get
their attention when I first walked in, but when I asked if they could have it
ready by lunch that changed," Olsen, who started skiing aged 2 and turned
professional at 17, recently told the newschoolers.com
website. "It now has a new paint job in winter camo and a ski box.
Jon Olsson is one of the worlds best all round skiers.
He holds eight Winter X-Games medals, won his own competition
Jon Olsson Invitational 2006 and has won world-renowned competitions
like the X Games in Aspen, US Free skiing Open in Vail, Red Bull Big Air in Åre,
Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships in Riksgränsen and the World
Superpipe Championships in Whistler BC.
Jon's professionalism, technical perfection and general presence have positioned
him as the leader of a new movement in skiing, sure to bring
a new image and resurgence to the sport.
