The
President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A, Mr.
Stephan Winkelmann, will make a visit to New Zealand's
only Lamborghini dealership, Lamborghini Auckland, today
(Friday 8 February 2008).
Following a
visit to officially open two new Lamborghini showrooms in
Australia (Sydney and Melbourne), Winkelmann will be
accompanied on his 24-hour New Zealand visit by sales
director Enrico Maffeo and the regional manager for Asia,
Australia and Pacific, Rocco Basta, says Mike Clark, general
manager of Lamborghini Auckland.
"Mr Winkelmann
hasn't had the chance to visit Lamborghini Auckland during
his time as president and CEO until now," says Clark. "Mr
Winkelmann and Mr Maffeo have been in Australia opening two
new dealerships, so we're delighted they will take the
opportunity to visit us in New Zealand where we have
arranged a small media conference and cocktail party for
them with Lamborghini customers."
Around six new
Lamborghinis are sold in New Zealand each year, says Clark.
"While the numbers are small compared to the high volume
brands, many people may be surprised by the strength of the
market for super cars like Lamborghini which range in price
from NZ$365,000 to NZ$675,000." As the only authorised
Lamborghini dealership in New Zealand, Lamborghini Auckland
also trades and resells the biggest selection of second-hand
Lamborghinis in the country.
The most recent
Lamborghini to be released was the Reventón. Just twenty
were produced and all were pre-sold world-wide at a cost of
1 million euros each.
Clark adds that
an 18 month wait for delivery is not unusual regardless of
where in the world the customer resides. "This week we are
delivering a new yellow Murciélago LP640 that the new owner
has waiting 18 months for. Naturally he's very excited that
his car is finally here!"
