15.02.2008 MASERATI GRANTURISMO STARS AT SOUTH AFRICAN MPH MOTOR SHOW

MASERATI GRANTURISMO

Maserati's GranTurismo made its first South African public appearance of 2008 at the MPH Motor Show, the South African version which was held in Johannesburg and hosted by Jeremy Clarkson.

The Maserati GranTurismo made its first South African public appearance for 2008 at this year’s MPH Motor Show.

Maserati's special guests of the show enjoyed the great atmosphere and excitement that South Africans have towards the South African MPH version. The motoring event and show hosted by none other than Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and our home grown radio, TV presenter and motoring enthusiast, Sasha Martinengo has been growing in status from year on year.

Maserati South Africa, run by the Viglietti family in Cape Town, was very pleased with the standard of the event and the other presenting brands. "We are sure that all that presented made great inroads to keeping sales figures up for the year and we would like to thank all those involved in the weekend as we look forward to next year," they say.

Viglietti Motors through their importer business has been importing Maseratis since 1998. Their dealership known by the same name, Viglietti Motors, located in Roeland Street, Cape Town, have been the top national seller for Maserati for 10 years now; even outselling the Johannesburg market.

This is about to change as the Maserati GranTurismo which has been specifically built for longer trips embodies what a true Grand Tourer or for short ‘GT’ is created for: That is journeys needing to be done in short time and in Maserati’s case very comfortably four adult passengers too.

The Maserati GranTurismo is great news for true motoring enthusiasts of sports cars in the Gauteng/Tswane area as the longer daily roundtrip journeys are handled with absolute ease by Maserati’s new generation Automatic ZF models. All Maserati currently are powered by Maserati’s 4.2L V8 motor with just over 400Hp (at 7100rpm) and 460 Nm (at 4750rpm) with top speeds reaching up to 290km/h.
