The Maserati
Quattroporte has always been regarded as one of the
world’s most beautiful cars, with its masterful design
by Pininfarina remaining as stunning as ever since its
launch at the Frankfurt IAA motor show in September
2003.
Now five years
on, the Maserati Quattroporte is set to receive its mid-life
facelift. Graced with careful detail changes by Pininfarina,
the subtle makeover is set to make the Quattroporte more
elegant than ever.
The largest
changes will occur to the front of the vehicle, with a new
grille presenting a more oval shape at a more thrusting
angle. As with its sister GranTurismo model, the
Quattroporte's grille will receive vertical slats similar to
the historical A6GCS design of 1954. The bumper will also be
graced with a new intake design and round mist lamps.
The headlights
will also be replaced with new units offering the latest in
active cornering control. LED indicator strips will flank
the base of the headlight units. The side of the vehicle
will represent minimal detail changes, the most obvious
being the new mirrors which are shared with the GranTurismo
and the new alloy wheel range. At the rear the changes
continue with a modified bumper and new LED tail light
clusters. The design of these light units will present a
honeycomb motif.
As with the
current Quattroporte range, there will also be a Sport
version which will receive twin oblong tailpipes, dark
headlight mouldings and anthracite alloy wheels with a
subtle trident pattern.
The new
Quattroporte is expected to recieve its world debut at the
Paris Mondial de l’Automobile in September.
