Maserati has
ignored the fears about the economy to record a massive
four-fold increase in its Australian sales during April,
lifting its year to date sales by more than 100 per
cent.
During April
Maserati delivered 24 of its exclusive sports sedans and
coupes, four times the figure for the same month last year,
and this takes its year to date sales to 88, a 109 per cent
increase over 2007.
“This result is
not unexpected,” explains Edward Butler, General Manager of
Maserati Australia and New Zealand. “We started 2008 with an
order book for the new GranTurismo that was larger than our
entire sales in 2007 and now that deliveries of these cars
are well underway, this is reflected in year to date sales.
With strong demand also continuing for the Quattroporte
luxury sports sedan, we fully expect to maintain this level
of sales growth through 2008.”
The strength of
Maserati’s growth in Australia and around the world is built
on demand for two acclaimed cars, the Maserati Quattroporte
and the Maserati GranTurismo, Maserati’s besting selling and
fastest selling cars in its history, respectively. The
Quattroporte and the GranTurismo maintain and extend
Maserati’s unique reputation for performance, style and
exclusivity. Owners are also attracted to Maserati by its
ability to offer more than four million trim and colour
combinations, allowing owners to truly personalize their
cars.
“While sales of
Maserati cars are climbing, they will always remain an
exclusive, unique ownership experience,” says Mr Butler.
“The Maserati badge is the mark of a car for the privileged
few who wish to own a car that is a inimitable expression of
motoring at its best.”
