						Exclusive
Italian coachbuilder Faralli & Mazzanti has revealed
more details of its new Vulca project, which was first
outlined back in March; a handcrafted high performance
V10 engined sports car that will run to production of
just 10 numbered units, and is set to debut at the
Luxury & Yachts show in Vicenza next March.

					A perfect mix
between apparently opposite worlds such as craftsmanship and
modern technology, including technical partnerships at
international level, the Vulca S is the first car entirely
designed and developed in-house by F&M.

					The name, as per
Faralli & Mazzanti tradition, is inspired by the Etruscan
world. Vulca da Veio is the most famous Etruscan sculptor,
responsible for some of the most well known artistic
expressions of this great and mysterious ancient population,
					including the “Apollo di Veio”.

					The Vulca S
classically interprets the typical concept of the
all-Italian GT car. It is lightweight thanks to its hand
beaten all aluminium bodywork sitting on an aluminium
chassis, a 2+2 coupé, that is sinuous and modern, elegant
yet with aggressive style. Under the hood pulsates a
powerful, reliable, latest generation engine which provides
in all its guises exhilarating performance. The Vulca S is
4831 mm long, 2000 mm wide, 1350 mm high and with a
wheelbase of 2781 mm. It is fitted with 255/30ZR 21 tyres at
the front (optional 245/35ZR20) and 295/25ZR21 at the rear
					(optional 275/30ZR20).

					The engine base
is the proven V10 unit drawn from the BMW M5/M6 models. Now
increased to 5.8-litres in capacity, all the internals
throughout have been re-engineered by F&M: the engine block
					has been bored out (bore: 93 mm/stroke: 85 mm/compression
ratio: 11:0) and fitted with a modified forged custom
crankshaft, forged custom pistons, forged custom con rods as
well as new camshafts, ECU/engine management software and
new twin-branch, quad-tailpipe exhaust system. This all adds
up to impressive maximum power of 630 bhp at 7,500 rpm and
630 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.

					With a maximum
speed in excess of 335 km/h and a 0-100 km acceleration time
of under 3.9 seconds, the Vulca S will be produced in very
limited numbers: only 10 will be handcrafted in the firm's
workshops, each one individually numbered. This will ensure
exclusivity and unrivalled attention to detail.

					The world
première of the dramatic and unique F&M Vulca S will take
place during the international renowned Luxury & Yachts
show to be held in Vicenza, Italy, from 6-7-8 and 13-14-15
March 2009. The Vulca S is set to be priced at 400,000
					euros.
